I'm with Afghan Dave on the Allender bats.

I'm in the market for that type of guitar, and I would seriously consider buying one (I already have an SE Singlecut) if it didn't have those daft bloody inlays. I play rock and metal, but also a fair bit of blues, and there's no way I could pull that out at a blues jam. It's a shame, because the colour is lovely. I just think the bats spoil it.

well, sorry, but that guitar just isn't aimed towards a blues player. it's an Extreme Heavy Metal band's guitarist's signature guitar. therefore it must look like a metal guitar and appeal to the fans of CoF and other similar bands... or it wouldn't sell as well to it's intended end user - a metaller.
PRS know that people who like cradle of filth also like dark purples and bats and gothic stuff like that... so they put it on the guitar to suit the end user's needs...... and to an extent, to get them laid with a goth of the opposite sex. perhaps. you get the idea anyway.

been thinking about obout one of these

there is just "something" not turning me on. I think it might be the lack of pickguard?? I dont know. But I would much rather one of these than a gibbo. But my mind isnt made up yet.

I personally am not a big fan of the PRS singlecut, but strangely I do quite like the singlecut trem (although of course the difference goes beyond just the trem). For high end singlecuts Hamer or Dean make fantastic examples, and of course our very own Feline makes what appears to be the perfect Les Paul for the price of a Gibson Les Paul Custom.

I still don't understand why they're called Customs when they are _FAR_ from custom >_>

all in all not a good photo.... I cannot find a single good photo of a royal blue single cut. That guitar actually has chrome hardware and has beautiful flame top maple cap and "natural" binding.

oh well... this has been my problem for any guitar I'm looking at in the last few years.

At least they are actually made in the custom shop these days.

No mention of the new Paul Allender PRS sig?

I'm elderly, the bat inlays and gold h/w aren't doing it for me.

Quite like the colour though.

s'funny... I'm having bat inlays, just not like that... (more stylised) And, I have to say that gold bits do nothing for me...  black nickel, on the other hand...

haha, I'm not elderly and I still think bat inlays are the ultimate in lame on a guitar.. or anything really. Seems like something poser emo kids would buy in an attempt to look "metal"

I only like gold hardware on a black guitar, but prefer silver/nickel really (though my LP custom has gold tuners, bridge and tailpiece   )

Gold hardware on a black LP Custom is cool.  Or Richie Zero's ES-347, which looks absolutely awesome.

I just think it tends to look a bit cheesy with most other colours.  And I don't like the way the gold plating wears off.
