Something a little different

Anyone ever seen these pickups before:

    http://www.q-tuner.com/index.shtml

I especially like this one with the iron paint on top in the pattern of the mag field:

Not really my thing, and god knows what they sound like, but from an asthetic point of view I like to see someone doing something different, and therefore am glad these guys are out there doing their thing. Not about to trade in the Warpigs tho :) Oo, and the demo on their site is pretty impressive playing wise. So actually I do know what they sound like, a bit.

Weird...
If the sound download is anything to go by they make the guitar sound a bit like an acoustic...
I too use chicken as a measurement.

yeah, reading their technical stuff it all seems to be about getting the exact sound of the string itself across, without adding or taking anything away. I suppose it would be good for getting a full on accoustic tone off an electric, maybe one in the neck to go with the BKP in the bridge :)

I'm actually now curious to hear what they sound like with distortion ... could be kinda weird, in a good way.

Hmm... finally a use for the middle position on a Les Paul Black Beauty...

Gee, that sounds better than any accoustic i've tried through an amp!

Neodymium!

That stuff has been plaguing me >_>

Bought some headphones today with Neodynium in the speaker and was wondering wtf it was. And now here it is again >.<

Oh wow, they do single coils?

I think i'll have to put one in the middle of my H/S/S...

I was just going to rip the mid out and never put anything into it.

3 brands of pickups in one guitar...

bkp bridge, q-tuner middle, dimarzio neck...

It's save swapping guitars to get an accoustic like tone, i guess.

Hmm... nah... i'd get 'em transparent.

If you're getting something different, it should look different, no point in making it look ordinary!

+1 to that. Would look cool in the middle of two 'normal' pickups. And would attract a lot of attention too, I bet.

True. Its about 10 times stronger than a ceramic, so magnets are much lighter. Used in speakers and headphones extensively.
