Metal pickup for Ibanez RG1570
« on: March 06, 2007, 03:25:43 PM »
Hi
I have a Ibanez RG 1570 (Basswood) with a X2N in the brige that i want to replace. The main problem i have with it is that
1) It has a little bit to much out put and not enough tone.
2) The physical hight of the pickup it to big, i have it screwed right down to the body and it is still to close to the strings.

I use the guitar to play metal im into stuff like necrophagist, lamb of god and between the buried and me. Im looking for a pickup that will give me great note defanition for fast metal riffing and a nice tone in a basswood body.

Thanx

LoG: Nailbomb (best gues from reputation).

Necrophagist: Miracle man. It oozes defention. Its got a smooth mid and kick that would do necrophagist well.

between the buried and me: ?

I think if you contraol the gain on your amp you'd be very happy with the sound of a ceramic warpig.

Dose any one know how the warpig sounds in a basswood body guitar. Will it have a tight bass response with drop tunings and keep its defanition?

Thanx

I have an A5 pig in basswood/maple.

Its quite tight and well defined. There isnt a hint of mud to it, but you can get tighter and more defined.
