After over 6 weeks of waiting, my Dean Vendetta 4.0 in Tiger Eye is finally here! First off the thing is absolutely gorgeous! Really rich brown burst with a really unusual figure. The neck is REALLY nice. It's basically like a PRS Wide/Thin profile, so it's really quick but very comfortable, and still feels like it's got some substance to it. It's a through neck, and it's massively cut away at the back, so high fret access is ridiculously good. It plays like butter, wonderfully smooth and effortless, and bends are so easy I can barely believe it. The best part is that Bill Lewington (the UK distributor) sets them up before they ship them out, so it's set up nearly to perfection (just has a very slight buzz on the low E).
Considering they're generic Dean/Samick MIK units, the pickups sound pretty good. Nice amounts of bark and growl from the bridge, and wonderful hot liquid blues from the neck. Should do me until I can raise some cash for BKs.
All in all, for £311 it's an absolute steal, and plays as well as guitars 3 times that price.
I'll try to post some pictures in the next day or two.
