Afraid to say I'm not really a fan.

I think the shape's just ugly compared to Drac's stuff =/

Althogh, the Siren is pretty cool except for the extra cut aways into the body on the treble side of the bottom, the spawn's cool too.

Are you talking about this one, Siren #1?

Or this one, Siren #2?

Neal did remove that extra cut on the lower horn for better fret access.

Keep in mind that Neal does normal shapes as well, like the strat shape. The Ba$tard V was a little extreme when I first saw it, but it grew on me.

I will probably be going with this V shape on my 2nd MCS, the Moser V:

You have to admit the Arachnid Ultra with the bullet hole inlays is one awesome bass!!!

 Those are quite possibly the ugliest guitars I've ever seen..

Is that coming from someone who doesn't like any pointy guitars?

Or from someone who likes good pointy guitars? :P

The only good pointy guitars in my opinion are sg's, and Charvel/Jackson headstocks  Whenever I see a pointy guitar it just screams poser-wannabe metalhead kid to me - :gayflag:

Agreed - Cept some I can allow.

Jackson Kellys I can allow, and Razorbacks when Dimebag uses them are ok.

I like the Laiho offset V aswell.

You see that is an age thing - and who pissed you off at some stage kind of thing!

I confess a real weakness for old BC Rich guitars - the old 1970s ones
Back when they just had an inlaid pearl R as the logo
There were only about 6/7 models - all through neck
Bich
Mockingbird
Eagle
Warlock
Ironbird
Wave
Stealth

& they were used by the Likes of Aerosmith, Kiss, Rick DErringer, Lita Ford etc

But that image has been destroyed by them only being asssociated with Death Metal bands now, and also they are usually the cheap end of the market ones which frankly I feel are poor quality

I really dislike the Beast - a very awkward guitar to hold

Think Neal Moser is doing some interesting stuff at times though

Oh yeah I forgot about the Mockingbird and Eagle, those look good :D Its probably because the really pointy ones just remind me of Slipknot, which is never a good thing

I have to admit to giving the new Beast/Warlock cross thing of theirs a second look though

But isn't it supposed to be the young'uns like Tom who like the pointy guitars?

I agree with you about the early BC Rich models, but I only like the curvier ones - Mockingbird, Bich, Seagull, Wave and Stealth.  Largely due to those old Rick Derringer album covers and cool 70s pics of Joe Perry and Neil Geraldo.  It all went wrong (for me) when they introduced the pointy "metal" models like the Warlock, Ironbird and everything that came after.

The Mosers and the spikier Richs are interesting as pieces of art, but as guitars I wouldn't dream of buying one.  Even if I did want one, it'd look very silly on a slightly chubby middle aged dwarf like me (mind you, Kerry King gets away with it, but he has all the spikes and tattoos).

Nevermind the fact that he's in one of the most succesful metal bands of all time :P

They're allowed to get away with that sort of thing ^_^

I agree on the older BC Rich models (I like the 10 strings too), though I think the 1st time I notised one it was George (cant spell his surname)from Golden Earring playing one.

As for Kerry King, it's not so much that he gets away with it, I think people are just generally too embarrised to mention the subject.

BTW Not a comment about the music

Rob...

Yeah, I've got that Robin George album   .  I've also got an old album by the Byron Band (led by late Uriah Heep singer David Byron, with George on guitar).  I remember when he was on the cover of Kerrang! (with that BC Rich) being touted as the face of 1984 or something.

A couple of good songs, but basically ol' Rob was a bit lacking in the balls department, I think.

70's BC Rich guitars are cool. The handmade ones of today are works of art. I'd rather have one of those than any PRS.

The trouble is they're way beyond my budget. Hopefully the new Calibres will be worth their money.

Have you noticed that the pictures of the Calibres on the BCR website are actually Exotics with the "R" logo photoshopped onto the headstock   ?  Anyone seen a "real" Calibre yet?
