LAG guitars?

Been looking at these:

http://www.millennium-music.com/lag_af200.htm

http://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_rgt42dxipt.htm

24 fret pointy superstrats = Win.

Seen the Ibanez on Ebay new for £399 BIN.

These are more to add to the short list :>

never heard of LAG guitars before.... they do look nice

I'd check out as many guitars at the LGS, and possibly save another £100

I hate to just suggest what I have but there really are some good reasons for looking at it.

May I suggest the Ibanez RGT42 as it has everything you're looking for:

1) 24 frets
2) H-H layout with 5-way switch
3) Pointy superstrat design
4) Super fast and thin neck
5) Locking trem
6) Mahogany body though it is a rosewood fingderboard instead of ebony
7) VERY easy access to the upper frets due to the neck-thru design

It usually goes for £500 but checkout this place:

http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/66779

they have it available for only £398 and for that money it's a steal for a neck-thru guitar. This is the first neck-thru I've ever owned and as a main guitar, especially for Metal and Rock, I'll never play anything else again. I simply can't express how much I've loved this guitar. The standard pups are decent enough but let's face it, whatever you buy it's likely you'll ultimately put a set of BKP's in it, that's what I've done. Every guitar I've had before there has always been some sort of niggle but I'll keep this one until it falls apart. I spent £500 on mine and for a little more I could have got an entry level Prestige model but I wouldn't even think of changing due to the neck-thru and to get a neck-thru on a Prestige model you're talking £1000 and I'd still end up changing the pups.

Can you tell I like this guitar  :D

Great guitar, great recommendation... I think that's probably just won the race.

:D  Thanks. Actually, I didn't mean it to be a review but I got a bit carried away with myself. If you want a more detailed review of what it's like, get in touch and I'll happily give you the lowdown on it. There is another place I use that is selling it for £500 but may well be able to pricematch and they do a really top drawer setup on it for £55. I paid for a setup on mine when they installed the new pups and it is even more awesome that it was before. It now runs on Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys instead of the Hybrids I used to use and the action is absolutely on the deck - perfect for shredding. Let me know if you'd like their details. I'll be posting a full review of the new pups at the weekend when I've had more of a chance to play with them but I can tell you now that the review will be good.

Funny you gave such a good review of it - Since it's the one that interests me the most :D

The S series I'm sure is phenomenal - but it doesn't have the agression that I want on a superstrat and it's only 22 fret.

Gunna try the Lag at LGS and if it particularly impresses me I'll see if I can get a bargain. It doesn't look as agressive as the RGT42 but god it's beautiful

http://www.lagguitars.com.au/CL/AF200-RBS.htm

And look at that Headstock

And since the RG looks better and is cheapest of the 3 - It's definetly the one I'm looking at mostly atm - And I'm 99% sure I've played and liked one allready in my quest before I got my Viper.

I always see/hear people ragging on the cheaper stock Ibanez trems and raising the Edge/Edge Pro to some unattainable level of awesomeness...

you should see the knife edges on my lo-trs...

seriously, after what happened to my lo-trs, i wouldn't trust any ibanez trem that wasn't an edge, lo-pro edge, edge pro or zr.

you won't be particularly happy when, 6 months down the line, you find the knife edges were made of papier-mache, and that ibanez, in all their benevolence, has made sure their cheapo trems aren't a direct retrofit for anything decent because they want you to buy a whole new guitar from them, not just a new trem.

wow, that sounds like i'm a bit bitter. it's because I am.

mr.pig (steve) was selling something like that rgt42 on here, but with a giger print and warpigs for something ridiculously low (sub £500 i think!) a year or two back; shame you weren't here!

UPDATE: noone bought it on here, so in the end it went on th'ebay for £550 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7418064057&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
