We went a bit more metal this year
Some nice shapes here

More pix of the new guitars once I get some sleep

Just want to say a HUGE thank-you to Afghan Dave, Davey, my mate Nick & Ms Feline who helped all weekend (ok - with my lady it was a mix of flirting and bossing people about....a natural dominatrix i tell ya!)

Was a good show- hope everyone enjoyed themselves

Anyone know where there's any pictures online anywhere of the stands at the LGS this year ?

I'm particularly interested to see some pics of the BLACKMACHINE stand if anyone has some please (pretty please

).

When they have the Musikmesse or NAMM shows there's pictures everywhere on the internet ususally the same day as the show opens.

I was gonna' take a trip up this year but it doesn't sound like too many people were overly impressed on the whole so maybe i did myself a favour.

I'll sum it up.

About 5 Diezel Herberts, 1 Diezel Einstein, and 1-2 Diezel VH4s.

1 Black Machine 8 string spalted.

3 Blackmachine 6 strings, one with flame inlays, and one with a beautiful snake skin neck, can't remember the third.

There was some other stuff but I can't remember. :roll:

Late arrival
We only got it finished on friday and Chris (who works with me ) rushed it up to the show.
We only just finished the Turquoise LP as we were loading the van for the show as well
Was all a bit frantic at the end but we got them done!!!

Was it the mahogany V that's been taking shape in your workshop over the last few months? What happened to the explorer that you were building next to it? (I'm assuming the one at the show was the none-more-black one you'd already finished?)

The turquoise/marine korina Lion really is an awesome guitar - I had a very long close look & played it for quite a while. It didn't look rushed at all, the finish was flawless. Did anyone buy it? :)

here’s a couple of my highs and lows

Highs

Marshall Vintage Modern, sounded very sweet in the demo room but damm those guys were loud. I am going to be checking one out pretty soon I think. Had a quick chat to the guy doing the demo, he seemed pretty down to earth

Pertucci JP6. I am in the process of selling my Axis because the neck profile just doesn’t suit me, I am a bit gutted because I love everything else about it. Anyway, had the chance to play the JP6, wow, the neck is fantastic, trem is good. I am in the process of buying one. They do seem a bit over priced to me though.

Orange Rockerverb 100 head. Went to try out the tiny terror, had a go with the Thunder head as well but the Rockerverb was the one that really stood out, very, very nice

Lows

Blackmachine – A few times I have nearly order one of these but held back, I am glad I did, the one I played felt stiff, the action was very high and it just felt wrong.

Headstock distribution – I am a big Ibanez fan, I know what they look like guys, let my play them for gods sakes. Even the guys on the PRS stand let me have a go with 4 or 5 with no fuss (although I am not impressed with them either).

Yes it was the one that has been on the "On The Bench" page for while
As was the Explorer and Korina Lion.

The Explorer was the None More Black one that you can see on the satnd
I just made myself very busy in the last month making the new guitars
The important making and setting up wasn't rushed at all - was just a few long days finishing stuff off
Tim had been busy making pickups for us and the only delay was getting the black no screw-hole covers made for the look we wanted
But as ever Tim came up trumps and we got our pickups

I had played the Korina Lion with just one pickup in waiting on the other to arrive and Chris ended up installng it while I loaded the van

Antag - you are right about the Korina lion - our paint guys really did a great job as ever - even I was gobsmaked when i saw it for the first time - especially once all the chrome bits went on.

Some of the guys who played the Blonde Explorer were amazed at how much they loved it - was a real winner !

My favourites were:

Organic 'Mono' Singlecut prototype, easily my guitar of the show.
Two Rock Head
Fuchs Overdrive Supreme combo
Briggs Avatar (a mate of mine liked it so much he bought it!)
Matamp Little Rock

Gripes... the show was disorganised, not up to the standard of Wembley in the last couple of years.

I got to hear the Marshall Vintage Modern at the Newcastle Guitar Show and I have to admit, Marshall have hit the nail on the head with this amp, it's one very sweet sounding amp. Seriously thinking about getting one to use until my Bogner arrives in September.

I was impressed with the Vintage Modern I tried in my local shop. They've got a 50w and 100w head in at the moment.

Very, very tempted.

LOVED the new Laney amps ..

guitars. my charvel slays them all. didnt like any as much, apart of the neck on two jonathans guitars.

this is the one that looked the best though:

i got a (not so good) picture of the painkiller V (after which i'm tailoring MY V, that i am working on with jonathan :D )

got a cr@pload of other pictures (around 500ish, between me and ben) but i have to sort them out first

Scratchplate is bronze smoke mirror, as is the trusss rod cover
Machineheads are sperzel
Jack socket is on inside of the top fin like on a Jackson RR or King V

Sounds awesome through a Marshall - really tough sounding
