shredders prefer a higher output neck pickup as it gives more definition on each note and the seperate quite nicely. I do alot of my fast runs on the neck pickup and then switch back. Also to have a slight increase in volume. Higher output neck pickups also sound more " tubular" or supposedly anyway. I really like it for cleans. I would recommend what ever the guys at BKP are saying

I don't know what timezone I'm in but here goes.....

Some guys like Gilbert often used parallel wiring on their neck buckers, parallel drops the output level from series. So a hotter neck (parallel wiring) would balance up better with the bridge (standard series).

Then again, this could be the espresso talking....
