OK, here is Millie. She arrived last friday and is very very shy.She is just beginning to get confident. She is very small and i doubt whether she will ever be very big.She is about 11 months old and has one of the loudest purrs that I have ever heard.

Coming in a bit late on this one, sorry to hear of your loss. Nice to see you're doing a good thing and taking in a rescue cat as well!

Oh, and I agree with this:

animal lovers make the world a better place in my opinion.

I cant understand people who are cruel to animals, it just doesnt make sense.. this sounds a bit sad and anti-social, but a lot of the time I actually prefer pets to people (well, dogs at least, I've never met a cat that liked me  ).

What a cutie!  Hope she brings you lots of happiness Mr 38th, and top marks for taking her in.  We've got 5 ex-strays that all needed help  :)

She has been a naughty girl by hiding in the last day or so but we coaxed her out and she is enjoying all the attention. She is a tiny little thing and finds her way into all kinds of nooks and crannies. I have just about been able to bring myself to look at pictures of dear little Mercedes (she is the little Russian Blue that we lost) but here is a pic of her.

I had a white persian with blue eyes that wasn't deaf luckily. Most of them with that combo are.

I lost my retriever to cancer, my mountain dog died of a twisted stomach and I think my 2 parrots and cat are still alive haha.

Pets are the best. I`ve seen some sick videos of animal cruelty like one of a puppy being stabbed by a sick woman wearing stilletos :(.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I am glad you have it working for you Mr. 38th. That's a beautiful cat. We almost adopted one this last weekend from the humane society but decided to stick with the dogs (2). I thought coyotes had taking our two cats, maybe a snake(we lost one to a mocasin two years ago), ratlesnakes are common. Then a call from a neighborhood yesterday told of another predator we were suspicious about but could not confirm, a Bobcat. It has been seen around right before a cat disappeared. This is a rapid change on our enviroment. Take care!

Thanks again guys-blimey those predators are heavy duty-at least here that is not an issue-just cars! The not knowing must be awful-however sad we were, we did at least know what had happened and that she'd have known nothing about it. Millie, meanwhile, is very shy still but getting more confident by the day. Those eyes are something to behold!

Millie update: she is really coming out of her shell and is exploring the house and has an incredibly loud purr. She is still a bit nervous and we have to move carefully but she is way different from that scared little cat we took on. In fact we got so much pleasure from her that we have now rescued another little female cat that we have called Loretta. She, too, is pretty timid but is gaining in confidence daily-so far they get on ok too.

Superb!  Glad it's worked out.  I have one of my cats on my knee interrupting my typing right now...
