Thats a good price for that amp Joe! I was going to get one of those a few years back and they were around 600 then.

good score Joe. 6L6's really suit Laney's much better in my opinion. I love the lead tone I get with the 6L6's

I'm actually thinking of getting some 6L6 for my Laney.. how good do they sound for low gain stuff? I heard a really good Fender Supersonic last night, and it got me thinking about changing my EL34s out for 6L6.

It's fatter and not as spiky as El34's.

I haven't tried, but i never got a very good brown sound from my EL34 GH50L so i don't know really.

Weird.. I can get a good brown sound with my Charvel + Laney. I swear your speakers must've just sucked or something  :lol:

I think so, yeah, A little less 'hair' than the brown sound but still pretty close
