Hello All,

I recently acquired a Geoff Whitehorn Crawler Bridge Pick-up for my Les Paul Custom. This pick up has really opened up my guitar. The major differnce that I notice between this pick up and others I have used is how it responds to picking dynamics. Play soft and it is extremely mellow, dig in and this baby gets nice and furry!! I am old school from the Classic Rock Crowd so when I plug this into my JTM 45 (Kt66's) and 4 x 12 Tall vintage (25 watt Greenbacks) it is the sound that I have had in my head since the late 60's. ( I'm a little older now but I sure as hell ain't mature!ps. I bought this pick up as a result of reading this and other forums so thanks for the advice.

Yet again welcome, Rockit.  You will under no circumstances be sorry with your Crawler, unless it be when you get a neck Crawler to go with it making you sorry that you didn't/couldn't do so earlier!  I put a set in my LP Standard some months ago, and have never looked back ---- the sound is like :harp:  to me!

When I'll get a tele, I'll definitely throw in some BKP... But I still need to buy a tele (I am lurking on an american with ash body... finance finance)and then rebuild a budget for the pups. It might happen tomorrow but I'll get there.

Rockit, your thread actually gave me the urge to get some for my LP Studio, but if I go down this route there is no way I'll get a tele anytime soon. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Yeah, get the Tele and post clips, there is kind of a lack of Tele players/clips in here. I recently played a Haar aged Tele and it was awesome. As much punch as any Les Paul I played and lots of bite for sure. I can understand now why Jimmy Page was into it for quite some time ... have you already decided on which set to get?

Yup, I've got a Crawler set in my LP Standard, too -- love 'em!

I totally recommend the neck Crawler, which is utterly beautiful. But if you're ordering a single neck pickup, order the Abraxas neck, as it's the same stats Tim uses for the Crawler neck, but works out slightly cheaper (because it's not a "signature" pickup like the Crawler, I believe).
