Hey, I can't help it - I call an overpriced spade an overpriced spade. I calls it how I sees it.

Yeah, I have... I think the best that PRS have to offer is the outstanding SE range. Apart from the lousy wrapover tailpieces, they are seriously good guitars - solid bodies, well made, reasonably good necks (although I found the Tremonti to be a bit uncomfy) - but the rest of their stuff for me is style over content.

In about 2002/3 I was on VERY good terms with my local guitar shop because I was basically in there every day for a chat, buy some pedals every couple of weeks and stuff and they let me have a go of a proper £4,000 Custom 24 (or thereabouts) and it was good but it wasn't, like, mind-blowing or anything. Visually, they are stunning... but I didn't feel anything special about it.

i disagree on the SE range... they're nice, but i chose my Melody Maker over a tremonti (because im strange), after a long while of direct A-B. comparison. and i've tried quite a few, always been impressed.. but not enough to want one.

horses for courses i guess!

i'd probably agree on the really expensive PRS' though... i dont really see how ANY guitar can justify being priced over maybe £2000.

but basically it plays like a piece of shitee... and thats that...

the looks and feel are top notch... and i can imagine that if was set up properly it might well be fantastic.

either way, im leaning away from traditional LP-style feel/playability, which is what the Ravelle certainly comes under... so whilst its a nice (possibly great/awesome) guitar.... its not for me i dont think.

I despise wrapover tailpieces, I find them really cheap - the exception to the rule is the one that Eastwood use on their Ultra-GP geetars:

I've never found any problem with intonation or anything with the wrapover tailpieces, even on cheaper PRS. Anyway, PRS do make an adjustable wrapover according to this page - http://www.prsguitars.com/csc/bridges.html
