H-S-H & std 5-way switch
« on: May 23, 2007, 02:55:02 PM »
Is it possible to get the following combination for an HSH pickup config with the std 5-way switch, or would I need the megaswitch?:

1 - Bridge hum
2 - Bridge hum + Mid single
3 - Mid single
4 - Neck split + Mid single
5 - Neck hum

I'm guessing #4 is the showstopper, although you can supposedly get Bridge split + Mid single on #2 so why not #4?

Depends on the number of tabs, a lot of 5 way switches only have 3 tabs and the common.  With that there is no way to get what you want.  If you can find one with 5 tabs and the common, then you can do it.
So many pickups, so little time

That's how I've got my RT wired up. I think I got the 5 way from BKP.  8)

yes - thats an easy one George

It's like the Jem wiring but without th coil split on the humbucker in position 2

Use one of the variants of the Jem wiring but dont attach the series link of the bridge HB to the switch (just tape it off)
