New guitar, new pups.
« on: June 12, 2007, 04:53:16 PM »
Hi Guys.
I have just purchased a new guitar and I need some opinions about pup colours, first of all it is going to be a set of Nailbombs in there and I am not sure what will look best, I am tempted to stay open pole ar maybe move to black covers, what do you guys think?
Please excuse the bad photo, I didn't take it.
By the way, its an Ibanez SZ320 goldtop.

Nice guitar Donovanx !

Due to it's classic look I would be tempted to fit nickel or aged nickel, depending on how aged/worn the rest of the hardware is.

It would be a real "wolf in sheep's clothing" ...

( I am a middle aged retro geezer though ).

Zebras look cool on a goldtop, but they can look a bit funny with metal pickup rings.  I'd be inclined to stick with black open poled.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I was tempted by the zebras, I would just change the pickup rings.

I used to have one of the SZ's. I loved it, it was just such a comfortable guitar. Acousticly, not one of the most desirable tones, but plugged in it was a whole different thing. I sometimes regret getting rid of it

If you go down the BKP route, stick a Mississipi Queen in the neck! Neck P-90's rule.
