Thinking of pulling EMGs out and putting in CS
« on: June 16, 2007, 09:58:49 AM »
Realized I like the alnico 5 pups vetter lately. I know CS is ceramic so am wondering will I still get that "not so wide and dynamic tones" with CS?  EMG are cool I am not putting them down just lately tone is in your face and kind ofbig but norrow. MY JB seems wider??? Make sense.  I am putting RY in other LP. If I don't put a CS in this I am thinking Crawlers.

I like heavy duty rock but also some variation if needed.

check out Antag's H Diver clips(btw,Antag=HD!)...he should get an endorsement(I just dropped one in my Jackson PC-1..superstrat built like a LP...it slays-I have never been able to pull pinch harmonics so easily...on virtually every note/every fret..!!)
-I have a CS neck...the M MAn is ceramic..but I find it to be a nice mix between alnico and what I thought a ceramic is... :P
"...major scales...what's that??"- Doug Aldrich
-Rebels,VHII, Mules,Milks,Bombs,and Boogie C+'s!!

Yes, the CS bridge is ceramic but it's not as lifeless as you might think. I didn't get the MM for precisely that reason but the CS is totally different. From what Tim told me, it's the plain enamal wire that he uses on the ceramic magnet of a CS that helps to warm up the sound. The tone is anything but narrow. It ends up fat and organic but also cutting and articulate. Honestly, put a CS in the bridge and it just oozes tone, really very impressive. I wax lyrical about these things all the time and that is because I bought them on Tim's suggestion while still being extremely dubious that he was right. Everyone raves about the CS neck but I swear to you that the CS bridge has to be one of the best kept secrets in the BKP arsenal because it really is awesome.
