Iced Earth - Overture Of The Wicked (Tim Mills included)

Well I was just in HMV in Watford this morning after seeing my girlfriend off to work and I came across this 4 song CD.

Opened it up and noticed Tim Mills was on there. Been wanting to hear him with Iced Earth for a while now and I must say his lead tone is awesome. THE best lead tone of any Iced Earth CD for sure. He's got a killer vibrato too and really cool licks thrown in. Everyone go buy it.....NOW

Ooo is that out now? I saw it on the HMV site for pre-order a while back, and made a mental note to buy it at some point, I must go there now and make the purchase :D

I got it, love the tone it's great and the music is good too.
Generally not much of a fan of Iced Earth but the new single is faster, heavier and generally more interesting than previous Iced Earth work
Haven't listened to the 3 song trilogy re-recorded songs on the ep yet but will soon!

I've just got it from Itunes as I don't have to go out or wait for delivery then :P

I've never heard any Iced Earth before, but I'm really liking it - the new single is really good, but like CJ I haven't listened to the rest of it yet...

shite the $%&#ing bed tims got chops ;)
great stuff.

The solo on Prophecy is great, I heard a few Zakk Wylde licks creeping into Birth of the Wicked at 2:34.. But all in all I love it, the music isn't my cup of tea bit cheesy for me but the playing is immense.

Glad you liked the solos Malicious, I've yet to receive a copy of the EP myself so still haven't heard how it finished up. The actual single doesn't have any solo on at all which I felt was a mistake  but the ones on the Trilogy were laid down mainly with a Mule loaded LP straight into one of Jon Schaffers amps. I did use a wah at the front of one of the pieces but that was all.
