String action, floyd rose and Neck relief

Hey guys

Basically I am not very happy with the playability of my guitar. It is a 1980s Fender HM, 24 fret with LO pro edge bridge.

Basically I would like the action lower with little or no buzz, my ideal action would be 1.5mm measured at the 12th fret on the Low E and 1mm on the high E. When set to this i get buzzing all over the neck when I play with medium-hard technique. my current action is 2mm on the low, 1.5mm on the high and I get no buzz at all.

I am using 9 gauge strings and I like the feel of these (tried 9.5's and 10's didn't feel right, also hybrids 9-46's).
Also when measuring the neck relief by holding down the 1st stret and 24th fret, measured at the 12th fret I have 0.25mm relief.

I'm wondering a few things, would it be possible to increase the neck bow a little more and maybe this would solve my problems? I'm unsure of this but from what I've read I have very little relief compared to others.

This guitar is pretty old and was in a very bad state when I got it, perhaps I should just save up for a vigier which has better action rather than persisting with this one which doesnt seem like it can be fixed. I have taken it for a few techs and they never get the action right, so I give up with techs basically for setting action.

Cheers

cntold, maybe I will, can I reccomend you also change your guitar for a john sykes les paul with some cold sweat to compliment your john sykes style playing  :)

Seriousley does anyone have any ideas about my current predicament? please!

You're talking about a very low action which may need some extra fret work to achieve, possibly a Plek setup, and you'll also need to develop a very light technique to go with it: If you hit a string hard it's going to vibrate similarly and therefore buzz against your frets.

I'm not saying it's impossible, just that  you may need some work on both the guitar and your technique to get exactly what you want.
As an aside, try getting some Stylus picks and see if you still get the same buzzing when you use them, they really require a light touch to use properly.

I mostly play superstrats with some kind of floyd and my action is just under 2mm at the last fret (22 or 24 depending on the guitar) and I have the neck with a very shallow bow so it's about the same at the 12th fret too, I don't have much buzzing but I use a lot of legato because my picking coordination is quite poor.
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon
And I'm coming home

as gingataff have mentioned above, get plek dressing done in chandler's and you know your guitar will fly. they will check your locking nut height, either to lower it by sanding it or raise it by inserting correct shim in, and your floyd(it's an ibanez one right?) will have a correct height matching with your fingerboard radius. your neck probably needs to be dead stright like vai's guitar for extreamly low action that you love. I don't think you can achieve the positive result by you messing around with it yourself.

manson guitar apparently offers great service as well. I think thats the only option that you have.
