As the title says!  Are BKP P-90s wax potted as standard?  Can they be ordered unpotted?

When potted, wax is added to the coild to stop them squealing at high volume/gain.

Unpotted pickups are, in my opinion, a touch brighter sounding and a bit more "open".  More like an acoustic sound if that makes sense?  Certainly more vintage-y.

I'd always choose wax potted pickups for live work, but for home/studio vintage tones I favour unpotted.
