ive been playin my megadrive alot lately....no good games for my 360 an MAN  NO WONDER I LOVE METAL NOWADAYS!!!
with games like kid chamelon, doom  and streets of rage(bareknuckle in japan :wink: ) its not hard to see where my musical taste came from!!

therefore sega = metal :twisted:

so are we the first generation of video game kids with influences in other parts of out lives aside form music....................??

could be the reason i love "special" mushrooms  :lol:   mario turned me into a beatnick!!!!!!!

my megadrive broke. Not impressed.

I have an emulator on my other computer though, i guess it's not too bad. Just the real thing has the old school vibe, lol.

FWIW, i blame 80's cartoons (transformers, thundercats etc.) for why i love 80's metal.

you got it in one man our cartoons were better too(nostalgia nostalgia nostalgia.....  :P )  i mean anyone who listened to the theme tune of those cartoons has to be a metal addicted fiend....plus transformers the movie.....80s metal magic  hahaha ****sings***  YOU GOT THE TOUCH!!! YOU GOT THE POOOOWWWWEERRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Power Rangers theme tune is my favourite. We did a cover version of it in a school assembly a couple of years ago and got an interesting reception to say the least. :lol:

man the chicks in the power rangers used to get me hot :roll:  :wink:    hahaha a cover of it would be deadly muh muh muh...you know what is the business though...the original XMEN cartoons theme....i dont think i can play the lead twiddely twiddley bits though.i was gonna try an learn eruption(my 1980s themed rite of passage in guitarhood :wink: )  but i think ill learn the xmen theme hahah

Castlevania was basically neoclassical shred, some of the Amiga games had really catchy tunes as well. Does anyone remember when you would get a Pirate copy of an amiga game it would always come with a cool little demo and  music. The good old days for those who remember it!
