Wes, interesting stuff. Bass is the only British beer that I can buy in supermarkets here (Quite a shame as I am quite the real ale fiend)
and the one thing I really notice is that it seems sweetened compared to Bass back at home, the same goes for when I find it on tap.
Pedigree is good but yes a good pint is the exception rather than the rule. Much like Timothy Taylor Landlord which I always enjoyed but never understood the fuss about it until I stayed at an inn (yes, a real inn!) in Haworth, a stones throw from Keighley where it's brewed and the beer there was truly incredible, better than any wine or whisky that I have ever enjoyed. Amazing.
