Cheap empty 2x12" wanted
« on: July 02, 2007, 10:08:16 PM »
Hey guys,
I'm in need of a cheap (but good) empty 2x12" in the 200-300€ range. Anyone can point me out some brand?
I'm thinkin of buying a Harley Benton G212 (130€, plywood, not too ugly) but something a bit better would be nice.
thx

I'd suggest those Tube Town ones Tom has they seems to be pretty well built I got a Zilla Music cab from Excess Audio Custom on ebay.. nice cabs but his customer service skills need some work.

I'm still waiting for my speakers from him, if you remember my other thread. He told me the speakers are on order and he won't get them til mid July :(

I won't be dealing with him again, he shipped me a damaged G12H30 then ignored my emails and has refused to do anything about it.

Luckily the speaker sounds fine, I ordered my other G12H30 from another dealer with no problems arrived next day perfect condition, they trade on ebay with BNIB in the description. Bit more pricey but worth it for the customer service.

The 2x12 cab I orderd from him was 9 days late, it's a nice cab sounds fine and the construction is immaculate but im considering changing it for a closed back cab at some point in the near future or just making my own closed back board for it.

Have you thought of making your own.  You should be able to find dimensions of something to copy.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

I have 2 left hands so doing it myself is not an option
The description of the cabs at Tube Town doesn't mention anything about inputs and handles options (I'd like to have some lateral handles) any info on this? _tom_?
I slowly leaning toward an Earcandy cab, anyone have infos on those?

Avatar and Ear Candy are both inexpensive cab makers in the US. Don't know how much shipping/customs will run you, though.
