I completed Final Fantasy XII's main storyline a month ago, and since there are no promising titles on the horizon for this summer, I figured I would revisit the game and start the process of completing the game with respects to hunts, the Necrohol of Nabudis, gathering all the final hunts as well as joining the Hunt Club.
I picked back up at the 80:04h save point, just prior to the game's final level and took my main party (Vaan Lvl 61, Fran lvl 57, Basch lvl 61) to the
Stillshrine of Miriam to take down the optional esper,
Zeromus the Condemner.
I had originally tried to capture this hidden esper when my party was around level 23, and it was a joke -- instant death. Returning 40 levels later, it was
still a serious challenge. At one point, there spawned a 15 Dark Lord bodyguard!
Game Hint: Make sure your first two gambits are Phoenix Down and Chronos Tear, or you'll never get through this boss. Sorry, the rest you'll have to figure out for yourself. :)
It took 4 attempts with subsequent tweaks to my party's gambits before I was able to capture Zeromus. The fight when I captured Zeromus took
35 minutes of constant fighting!
If you're like me, you might find normal FF XII gameplay to be a little stale once your party goes above level 50. But, fear not! Any hunt that's above Rank III will provide a serious gaming challenge. And forget about Rank VII and VIII marks!!

I also finally obtained the component video breakout cable for the PS3 over the weekend and was able to witness the PS3 in 1080i.
Stunning.
