Yep I used my Laney. Had a keeley rat in front of it boosting very slightly, it just tightens it up a bit and makes it sound more lively.. Settings were

presence - 5/6 ish
bass- 5
middle - 7
treble - 4

pre-gain - 7
drive - 4/5 ish

master was around 1.

Twinfan, cheers, I'm still thinking of trying a V30 out of curiosity really. Indy just got the g12h-v30 combo for his JCM800 combo and said it sounds great so I might just give it a try.

after hearing that, and trawling through loads of old clips... i think a Black Dog bridge may well be the way to go.... Mule-esque but a bit darker and slightly higher output.

anyone selling a Black Dog on the cheap? (the pickup kind)

Interesting that Tom. I've got a Palmer PDI-09 DI box with speaker emulator built in arriving any day now. I should be able to make some decent clips at last! I'll be interested to see just how good it sounds...

who thinks open-coil zebras would look good in the blue burny?

thats going against my love of covered H/B's but i just think the blue would look great with zebras...

Zebras look cool, I dont like too much gold on a guitar, which is why I also changed my covers to black as I got bored of gold. Heres a quick photoshop (tho the white coil is much creamier looking in person)

hmmm some different opinions.

tom- i quite like the look of that. although i had a much more cream colour in mind as well which i think would work better with the gold.

i really hate making decisions.
