Problems with fitting a miracle man
« on: July 27, 2005, 10:16:25 AM »
I have just received my miracle man and it seems to only have 2 mounting screw holes whereas my strat has 3 on its scratchplate, is it still possible to fit the pickup?

You will have to drill a hole inbetween the 2 holes. There sould be enough room so that it fits.  The easiest way to get it lined up is to put the pickup in and mark it that way.  If you have a few drill bits you can use a small one to drill a starter hole through the pickup hole, but make sure it doen't touch the threads in the pickup hole  PDT_013

Once you have the guide hole you can drill it with the correct size for the screws.
So many pickups, so little time

You could get a new stratch plate?? keeps it neat. WD can do it but make sure you specify where you holes are. However, they do take a while, bout 5-6 weeks to get over here in brittain.

The first option is obviously cheaper. There is colored filler/bondo available at hardware stores so you can cover up the holes. After some polishing, you'll hardly see anything of it.

I’m actually thinking about having the outer screws as duds and just having the centre screw as the functional screw, I don’t think it would look too weird.

I think thatd look fine, if you just had dud screws. Go for it!
