So, which amps are you guys gassing for majorly?

For me it's the Zakk Wylde Marshall JCM800. I've only ever played through Tim's ZW Marshalls and everytime I've been blown away by it. I think it has the exact tone I've been looking for. Thinking of getting rid of my Powerball to get a JCM800 and put some 6550's in the power section.

Are there many techs that would put 6550's in a JCM800? or is it something that many techs don't do?

But apart from the JCM800 it's got to be the Mesa Mark IV  8)

What else is different about the ZW Marshall compared to a normal '800?

I have a 100w JCM800 atm if you're interested  8).

I dream of a Voodoo V-plex or some other high end boutique amp that is similar.

I've had a JCM900, the 2100 model. The JCM800 sounds better in my opinion. More balls to it and nicer gain.

yup, 2100. I like the two master volumes really. is a good amp, and is great to be able to switch to triode.
maybe I shall run both in stereo  8)

I'd like a Matamp. I've got major doom impulses at the moment and when I saw Boris recently they sounded incredible.

Really though, I was fortunate enough to get my amp choice right first time. It's meant I can concentrate on my guitar GAS without any distractions. :)

I recently bought the amp I'd been gassing for - Engl Savage  - pretty much stopped me gassing for amps.

However I'm sure I could be forced to buy a Hughes & Kettner Triamp MKII (the amp I drooled over before I got the Savage) :)
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)
