travel axe "Warpigged !"
« on: July 28, 2005, 11:10:28 AM »
Librium "Balatron" travel axe-
25" maple neck-thru w/walnut body wings, Kahler trem,
& BK Warpig:ceramic mags, uncovered, Volume/Tone/Series/parallel sw.
-it rocks!- Sounds great, too!
- this axe is the last one I built in the states- made it my Mum's garage while on vacation in California back in '98
-my constant companion,  it balances & plays great, though it looks dangerous...
it's all rounded & smoothed on the back and bass bout where my arm  makes constant contact-all pleasure, no pain!
-this guitar also bears the distinction of being able to fit into a conventional LP/Strat sized case-I don't make guitars based on case sizes...
-like cutting yer toes off to fit a shoe you found...what's more important?!
the axe!- & crazy metal designs, at least in my movie!
Will labor to get some soundclips posted over the weekend-
 best regards from Drac

cool. i have to say ( no offence or anything ) that i haven't been too fond of some of your other axes, they've just not been to my taste, but that one looks pretty good

Drac, in your works the borders between guitar crafting and sculpture are non-existent. Truly incredible... :D

That guitar looks great! I'm new here, do you make guitars to sell? If you do how much is a guitar like that?

Cheers,
Angus

Hello Angus-
Welcome to the BK forum-
Yes I make guitars to sell...
This was the first of my own designs, & I made this axe for myself in '98...
still have it-sitting next to me now; I'm ProTooling with it today-
It's my "#1" axe-sounds/plays great, and like several other guitars, I can't bring myself to part w/it...
-Clone it, I can...$1650 USD...for the basic axe, single HB, neck through in a "black kross" case-(by coffin case)
-This would be with a Floyd (or whatever you want) instead of a Kahler-
-and I would suggest a Bare Knuckle pickup-
thanks for your interest-

Thanks Drac,

That's a very reasonable price for a custom guitar! Do you have a website or links to more photos?

Cheers,
Angus
