So they're not available with 2 hums now?

What does the 6 way dial thing do?

whatever happened to simplicity in design?

I don't like it, but then again who am I to argue with a multi-million dollar company?

They still do the 2 hum ones, but recently they have brought out the SG faded 3 pickup and the Flying V faded 3 pickup. They are cheaper than normal v's and normal sg's i think.

I can't remember the order, but
Bridge,  bridge + middle, middle, middle + neck, neck, neck + bridge

so just like the strat 5 way with 1 more (and rotary  :? )

I think I would prefer the option of having 1 vol for each pickup and master tone

I have to disagree with everyone here - I like it!   It's nice to see Gibson doing some new guitars which aren't just regular models with weird finishes or novelty hardware (SG GT anyone?).  And you can still get the 2-pickup version, so it's not as if they're forcing anyone to buy this one.

I suspect the middle pickup gets in the way a bit, but that would be equally true of old 3-pickup Les Paul and SG Customs.

It is simple, isn't it?  3 pickups, volume, tone and a selector switch.  No more complex than a Strat.  A 5-way blade switch might have been better, but I don't think it would fit in the shalllow V body - and I'm sure the rotary works well enough.

And the switching arrangement makes a hell of a lot more sense than the extremely limited options on the aforementioned 3-pickup Customs.

What's wrong with the headstock?  It complements the body shape perfectly.  Fair enough if you just don't like Vs, but I think it's a classic design.  It would look wrong with any other headstock shape.

Its different thats for sure. However I wouldn't buy one and if I was "given one" I would have to get a 2 HB pickguard and rewire it for 2 'buckers.

seems too simple actually, no option of how the mix goes between each pickup.
I think it has been around since early 07

don't really see why it's drawn such vehement (there's one for Wez!) criticism.  it's just a vee with an extra pickup, what's all the fuss about?  everyone seems to love Jackson Rhoads style vees, that's a much bigger departure from the classic styling.  i say stick a set of Irish tours and a vintage trem on it, see how that sounds!  or maybe a Yardbird set.

i hate the look of all the gibson style V's, regardless of the maker if they look anything like a gibson style i find them wholly unattractive.  Just so $%&#in clunky, it is really too much and nigh impossible to get to those upper frets.  IIIIICCKK!
