The entire GCSE course pissed me off as i ended up doing about 12+ in the end... our school forces you to take half-courses e.t.c. so i did all the standard choices and manditorys, as well as French, Statistics, P.E half course, R.E half course. e.t.c.

For us, the RE course was a full course and it was optional - A couple of my mates took it - PE was also a full course, and again, was optional.

French was also an optional for us, we were all forced to do a language though - Either Spanish French or German - I did Spanish.

I think we did statistics, but I don't have any results from that - It was just some work that was given to us during our maths classes - We couldn't differentiate from what was "Maths" and what was "Statistics".

In our school we weren't forced to do any subjects other than Maths, English and Science - Although we were forced to do categories, ie, 1 Language, 1 technology, 1 creative subject, and 1 humanity, and then 1 extra subject of our choosing.

yer see we got done over! lol... pretty much every other school i know had loads of optionals, whereas we were forced to do them.

oh and statistics- yer there is a portion of the maths course which covers statistics, but our school- being the arse that it is, made us do a full GCSE in Statistics alone as well as the maths course.

and Joe- i was gonna go to the FC party but didnt in the end. long story haha.

oh and Wez makes some very good points!

Where you going to do that course Joe?

I done the same course a couple of years ago now at Oaklands College in Welwyn Garden City. My playing improved 10 fold within the first 6 months of being there, though some of the tutors I had were lazy ar*eholes who lost my work

Not Welwyn, though I heard Welwyn has one of the best music courses in Hertfordshire or something. I would have gone there but i doubt i would have got there in time every day haha. I'm doing it at North Herts College in Hitchin and the tutors there have been recommended by my brass teacher and guitar teacher and said they are awesome players. I'm intending on working this time though (unlike sixth form where i was lazy and did nothing) so that i can try and get myself a career in the music business as i'd hate to throw away pretty much my biggest talent, though i know it's extremely hard to get a good paying job doing music. I am now relying on my guitar playing though as after about 8 years of trumpet and euphonium playing i finally quit to concentrate on guitar because i enjoy it a lot more.

Try doing a HND in South Manchester for 2 years in music performance, (with tendonitis) that really is hardcore! I got many distinctions, congrats on your results, there are many more challlenges ahead though. Don't mess your A levels up! they're far more important than GCSE's. what career are you heading for?

If you're asking me then it's between Shred-god, Engineer, 3d Modelling/animation/rendering, or getting a Physics degree and choosing my pick of office jobs.

Had first lessons today - Further maths was hardcore, I think the teacher is trying to split the men from the boys, I've never been so nervous in my life. I was honestly shiteting myself - Never been in such a horribly tense situation. Even my exams were more laid back...
My last FM.
ESP Horizon NTII.
ESP Viper Camo.
ENGL Screamer.

Substitute '2 years' for '1 year' and 'tendonitis' for 'tinnitus' and you have my course in a nutshell.

And yeah, that was hardcore!

I know a few members on here have just got them back - And I also know that they're totally irrelevant and don't matter, etc - But anyway, how have results been - And what A Levels or GNVQs/BTecs etc have people applied for?

Mine were 6 As, 3 Bs, and a C - Respectively As in the subjects I'm good at, and cared about, Bs in the irrelevent subjects - Including Music :p, and a C in the subject which mattered the least imo - English Lit.

I managed to get into the Uber prestigious Further Maths class in my school even though I only had an A in maths and would normally need an A*, so I'm pretty happy about my results - Also doing Chemistry Physics and Philosophy A levels next term.

Now Sambo - Your turn! :D

congrats on getting into further maths, my college wouldn't let me do it in my first year, so i ended up dropping another couple of subjects and taking it all in one year... [not recommended]
