Just thought of another; "Baby Can I Hold you Tonight" (Tracey Chapman)-you should be able to do a fingerpicking version of it.

Bon Jovi - Always

Everybody knows it, and it's fairly simple to strum along too!!! I got a live version somewhere if you want it...

ooo and babe i'm gonna leave you is a great song to just play around with because of the chords, i never play it right, so if you are fingerpicking i'd use that, but not have it so similar to LZ that people think that they're splitting up already lol

Possibly both since they're in the same tuning, but the first would be my first pick. Something slightly more original and interesting if you don't sing, anyway.

I thought of another one today at work. Here Comes The Sun by the Beatles. You could include the melody of the vocals as the guitar almost follows it. It's nice happy uplifting tune and everyone should recognise it too. Nevr tried to play it though, knowing them it could be tricky.

At my wedding 2 years ago I got my best man to hide my Larrivee acoustic in the room where we were having the reception, and then when I had to do my grooms speech I got my best man to grab the guitar.

I sang and played "I will always be right there" by Bryan Adams to my wife right there in front of all our relatives and friends.  It's got THE most perfect lyrics for a wedding, and for a couple starting out together.

.........wasn't a dry eye in the house

I must add my fave americana folksinger songwriter Todd Snider's song "Just In Case..."...it explores the idea of prenuptial agreements...you MUST hear this one...
   -chorus...
"just in case...just in ca-aaase..this morning I stopped by my lawyer's
pla-aaace..
I didn't think that you would mind,...here,dumplin'..sign on this dotted line
whats yours is yours and what is mine
will alwayyys be-eee   mi-iiinnneeee....just in case..."
-always a hit with the newlyweds!

Further to Johnny's suggestion about "Here Comes The Sun" (great idea btw Johnny)-don't forget a capo which will need to go on the 7th fret.
