hi everyone, im new around here :)
anyway, im just wondering if anyone knows wether the warpig humbucker
is suitable for playing black/death metal?
it caught my eye out of the crowd, and the term "heavy as hell" intrigues me.

basicly im looking for a er.. heavy as hell sound that can still stay relativly
sharp during lead parts.
the guitar it will be going on is an Ibanez RG270DX.
if not the warpig could somebody kindly point me in the right direction?

kind regards.
Regards,
Adam

Welcome to the forum, Nekron. A cool name you have, BTW. You could check out the Players section. There you'll find clips of the Warpig. I especially recommend you Drac's clips, he's really into death/black metal and has Warpigs in his self-made guitars. Ratrod has also made some heavy-as-hell clips.

Yep, the warpig can do death/black metal!
What bands do you listen to/like the sound of?
The only other pickup I would recommend is the Miracle man for a tighter bass response and more highs.

heh 40k! memories...

i had a seymour duncan livewire HM that ran off 2 9v batteries.. the most insane brutal sound ever, Dark Funeral use them. Not much tone though, just a big chunk of ARAGAH everytime you nail the guitar

Warpig should be ace, and it looks mean aswell

$%&#ing Hails Man
i īm also a extreme metal player.
blackdeaththrashfusion metal.
for black and death metal, (i didnīt played any BKP yet, just listened to the soundclips)i think you want a Middy/high tone with strong(but not excessive) Bass to couple the other two mentioned frequencies, RIGHT?!
why not checking out the nailbomb?
iīll get a Miracle man bridge, but donīt know about the neck YET
$%&#ing hails and welcome to the forum

If you really wanna go extreme INSANE death/black metal, go for a ceramic Warpig. It'll do the sharp lead stuff very well. The Alnico V Warpig is pure thunder when down tuned, smooth leads and excellsent cleans.

The Nailbomb wouldn’t really do what you want; it wouldn't give you the right tone. The two I would look at are the warpig for a huge bass response and a really heavy sound, perfect for death metal. For black metal (Emperor, Immortal kind of tone) I would go for the miracle man, It has more highs and a tighter bass so it would handle tremolo picking better.

Hails Steve... i have a different approach when talking about pickup styles.
i tried Several seymour duncan pickups... and the ones(didnīt try them all. didnīt try dimebucker, invader, paralel axis distortion, Livewire, duncan custom) that ALMOST suited me BETTER(I Said ALMOST) are : Custom custom, custom five(but i hated the lack of mids, THIS PISSES ME OFF)!
so... the ones i think will suit me better are the 2 i mentioned here and a Seth Lover and, probably a dimebucker. but i need to test it.
so... itīs not a fact that high output humbuckers, together with big bass response are always the better choice for extreme metal .
i, personally, not agree with this... this is why sometimes people can think iīm extremely exigent or a kick in the balls... but itīs not true .
Q:)
And that is the Iīm still have a little doubt about a Miracle man and The Mule.
ahahahhahhahhaha
Hails

hm, i have alot to think about.
i'll probably end up going for the warpig though,
although the miracle man is drawing me in..

hm, i guess i'll have to make my wallet decide after all.
thanks for all the response  :)
