arrrr can't decide what string to get

I'm downtuned to C standard and use 11, 15, 18, 30w, 42w 56w

tension wise it's similar to 9-44 or 46 in E

can't decide over the plan steels though, should I get go for 11.5, 15 ,19 or not???

my style is more uber fast picking than legato but I wanna do some legato

might get a 32w instead of a 30w as well

ps my high C just went flying across the room!

I'm assuming you have a fixed bridge then? I had to plan my setup very very carefully to get "drop D" tuning in B (ie bottom A is my "E" string) with my floyd rose bridge!

I personally favour thicker gauge strings to get a decent amount of tension (provided the neck can cope in the tuning you decide on), and I also play mostly fast picking stuff. The odd quiet bit, but to be honest, I prefer tauter strings for that stuff too :)

I doubt this will help, but I live in hope!

kind of solved my own problem, got a floyd so the remaining strings were practically C# standard, so I fine tuned them to C# and the extra tension doesn't mess up bending and legato as i thought it might, hell I think i prefer the wounds with the extra tension, using my 3mm stubby instead of the 2mm it feels nicer to play on
