Nice work WFD. Seems like a worthwile project.

Still, if i may offer some constructive criticism, combining styles too much doesnt really work in metal, well unless you dont mind ending up on the big pile of gothenburg bands.

Listening to the two songs which are to me quite recognizable, your singer is a blacky, your drummer is a trash drummer(which are the best anyway) and you seem to prefer a melodic death metal style. So you have still some compromizing to do.

I also hear you doing a bit of that oldschool hardrock nastyness sometimes, it does not fit the music and it breaks up the song IMHO. I also think you could try and build up the songs better, the intensity is pretty much the same in the beginning trough the end. Riffwise its all there though, GO!

IMHO in the beginning of a project it works best to just start playing, own songs or covers doesnt really matter, just to prefent boredom. Usually when i join a project we choose a platform (like gothenburg for example) and a general direction (more grind/trash/and so on) and try to gather reference material from other bands and play that for a while. Pretty soon everyone will seek out what they like best and only then writing songs starts.

So for example if you guys would say melodics deathmetal but more to the grind side of that (like the oldschool swedish deathmetal) you could cover a couple of songs from Vomitory. Playing Vomitory would be an excellent way to find out how good your drummer exactly is

If you try this out i think all will fall in place pretty soon, most projects i did which failed did fail because there was no sense of direction in which to develop and everyone was just messing about and trying to pull the rest in a certain direction.

Anyway, keep it up, i hope we will hear alot from your band.

Excellent Review Man
Whats Your Astrological Sign?! ahahaha ScorpioMaybe!?

The drummer is programmed.
The style of the band is kinda Heavy metal accented with Some Modern Goth swedish death metal, btu i think without Cloning Them.
I didn´t write anything for this band yet, except for my lead on the songs(Voices of Me, Beyond Infinity, Still Alive) of the demo.

The vocalist really Likes Black metal, traditional Heavy metal/Thrash Metal , and i´m driving him into Unholy Death/Thrash metal. th etech and brutal ones.

the bassist is into some heavy metal, but, mre into progressive. as he told me.

the other guitarrist is more into Heavy/Traditional heavy/ some black here and there and massive swedish death metal

and i , i think you all already know, but i´m into all the black/death/thrash/Doom/fusion metal (respectively) , like : Defleshed, Spawn Of Possession, Ophthalamia, Dismember, Dissection, Morbid Angel, Hate, Vader, Decapitated, Tristitia, Old Katatonia, Old Samael.
so, you can´t hear my influences on the band yet.. only the way i aggressively play and my DOOMY Leads. ahahah Thanks for the huge inffluence of October tide and Katatonia that i Had , in teh beginning of my guitar playing
Q:p

Did you get it ? is there anything new from my revelations!?
Hails and thanks for the excellent review.
i´ll take note f yoru comment for personal purposes.

OMG! I didnt even heard that if you hadnt mentioned the drummer was programmed, thought he timed everything unusually good and since trash drummer can handle tempo changes very well....

Its very hard to compromise all musical interests without getting some bland metal noodling as a result.

If you look at it from an audience POV you know what i mean.

Unleashed makes a succesfull bland of different styles, Johnny makes sure things dont get messy from porking too much in the noodly-pie though.

Since you asked for (honest) opinions i just told you what i think, i dont see what astrological hoky poky has to do with this.

I'd just want to say that this is one of the best demo bands I ever heard. And I totally disagree that mixing different styles is not good! I think it's really healthy for the metal scene!

Just find me one pure heavy metal, or thrash metal, or any style band that hasn't used it self over and over. Musically speaking, combining best of both worlds is the best thing to do, and as I noticed, it's also a trend these days. And its a good thing! We don't want the metal scene to end up dreid up, cos it already is.

Also, combining styles gives you much more freedom! Eventualy you end up with your own style, and thats where you know you did the right job! Thats where you can call your selt a true artist, not just a "metalhead".

This is a basic fight between conservative and open minded, and I think the best thing to do, is make a GOOD BALANCE. Keep your roots, but don't hesitate to reach out for more.

I didnt say that, i said you cannot mix too many styles together, well unless you dont care about that the audience wont be able to comprehend/anticipate the songs.

Kind of a big thing as a metal band is one big (*&%(& moshpit in front of you, or am i too conservative with this estimation?

You are conservatoive, so am I, so is everyone :D I never ment to ofend you :) I just wanted to say that we should not look at the mixing of styles as something bad, cos it might be the only thing to keep this industry creative enough.

And yes, too much mixing is not great :) But these guys found a very good balance :)

Cheers  :drink:

Love the music, I just can't get into that type of vocal style.
The quality of the demo is very good.
