Hmm, let's see.  Today it was Unearth, Killswitch Engage, Symphony X, Spheric Universe Experience, Scar Symmetry and Adagio.  Oh yeah... and whatever happened to be on the smooth jazz station here in town when I was switching cds.

Later,
Jeff

Andy Timmons,Deep Purple and Lynrd Skynrd And Axis Bold as Love made me cry, even  after listening to it since 20 years ago.  Sometimes Jimi just sneaks back up on you and it's all brand new.  Would like to hear the new Maiden. :!:

i cant remember what i listened to last..

i keep going through my music library and nothing is as bleak and dark as i feel right now... so i've been sitting here in silence for the past 5 hours.

Since the car I drive for work (small truck/van thingy) has no CD player, only a tape player, I'm diiging through my old tape collection. I just rediscovered Faith No More's Album Of The Year. Pure genius.

I was playing some older things that I haven't heard in a bit this weekend:

Concrete Blonde - Recollection
Groundhogs - Eccentric Man
Chicken Shack - The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions
King Crimson - Court of the Crimson King
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs

And not so old

Lacuna Coil - in a Reverie
So many pickups, so little time

Try listening to something cheerful instead then! Jump by Van Halen usually does the trick "you gotta ro-oo-o-oool with the punches to get to whats real!" whadda line!

Alternatively try something like the birdie song or agadoo, this will only work if you do the dance as well tho.

I'm currently listening to an old DJ Ratty old school rave tape from new years eve 1993/94  :D

New Maiden is ok, but not great.  MAJOR cr@ppola as far as the production.  For some unknown reason they chose not to master the disk.  Kevin Shirley should be shot.  His mix isn't good enough not to have been sent to a mastering engineer.  All told, I like the previous effort better.  But let's be serious, Seventh Son, Powerslave or Somewhere in Time this is NOT.

Up the Irons,
Jeff

Iommi - Fused
Jethro Tull - Benefit
Trouble - Manic Frustration
Y&T - Mean Streak
Audioslave - Revelations

You have chosen tastefully!  Benefit has long been one of my top albums, and I could listen to Iommi's tone on Fused all day long (and sometime's do ;)).

You have also chosen tastefully! :)  Though I liked the Beggars more when that nutter Spice was in the band, and I haven't heard the new Clutch yet (though I look forward seeing them open for Motörhead  in November  ).

For my part .... well, I've been checking out the new Motörhead  album; seems pretty good so far!  I checked out the new BLS, too, but I gotta say that it hasn't really been doing it for me that much .... :? Anyway, I was just on holiday in Italy, too, so I was listening to some Lacuna Coil (I'm a sucker for that kinda thing -- always liked The Gathering! :)).  I've also been grooving with UK psych-masters Sun Dial, various MP3s downloaded from unsigned bands on MySpace (of all sorts of different genres), and over and over again to one of my own demos, trying to figure out a way to get a better snare sound from my relatively rudimentary drum-programming setup! :)

Concrete Blonde - Recollection

For some reason, I've always loved their cover of Leonard Cohen's "Everybody Knows"!

I do dig Lacuna Coil, though I kinda wish they sang more material in Italian.  I think it would sound better :)
