Nailbomb humbucker set - BKP Demo
« on: May 03, 2005, 09:37:13 PM »
I recorded this one at HJM's at the same time as the Miracle Man and Mule demo clips. Amp settings are the same as the other clips and no extra EQ added at the desk.
Guitar: HJM's RG550
Amp:JCM800 50watt-stock
Effects: TS9 overdrive

The rhythm track was cut with the bridge pickup, the little clean sections are neck pickup. I used both bridge and neck pickups on and off throughout the lead sections.

Hope you like it and let me know what you think. PDT_045

Sick dude!
Sounds like a cross between Pantera and Godsmack.
Curious how it would sound over a Mesa Recto.

The same. The 1st guitarist in HELLION was a student of Randy Rhoads, actually. Listen carefully and you can hear some 'standard' Rhoads scales in there ... :)

I loved that so much I felt compelled just to congratulate you and scrounge those opening chords off you!
It's so big and evil and looming... it's like the rock music equivalent of King Rat entering the stage to green lights and boo-hiss. I will love you forever (and buy a pickup or two when I get my GS built) if you tell me what those chords are :D
Thanks!

Oh well, seeing as you put it like that-Fflat 5,Eflat 5 played against open high E and B - sorry, you'll have to ask HJM for the proper names, I just play the stuff

Erm , it's early,  but in my book that's F major 7 b5 (no third) and
E b5 #11 (no third), technically they're both suspended chords, as there's no third.... my brain hurts now, I need coffee...

Erm, my chord dictionary tells me that the chords listed could be any one of about 16 different open chords... sometimes new technology can be a double edged sword (unlike a double-edged sword, which is old technology...)

Any chance of tab diagrams? Pretty please? I'll tell all my friends that you actually invented rock'n'roll.

Hey Eddie, it's me Mupps!

I think you should send that Mp3 Shackers' way, he is pretty good at figuring out chords by ear.

It's an Fflat 5 power chord shape played with the root in the 8th fret with open E/B strings followed by the same Eflat 5 shape at 7th fret also with open E/B strings-chord names as HJM suggested

Thanks very much, ye are a gentlemen and a gentle man. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, I'm lazy and hadn't checked...

I may be emailing you soon with some RW/RP-related technical questions.
Thanks again,
