Title: so i was at the grocery store...
Post by: the_bleeding on August 24, 2008, 06:55:34 AM
backstory: i work at a restaurant, they sent me to the grocery store across the parking lot to buy stuff yet again. Anyways, last time i went there i flirted with this cute girl cashier, she could be around 17 or 18, im 20. She clearly knows i work at this restaurant seeing how i wear my chef coat over there (appetizer chef YEAH!). So i go in again today to get some 12 loaves of bread and shes there smiling and waving to me, because i mistakenly, like a dumbass, went to some old lady cashier instead of the cutie cashier. Anyways, so im trying to bag this bread, and the bag wont open, and cutie comes over from her cash and helps me bag... and it was all cute... and now i dont have the heart to tell her that this week is my last week because im moving to toronto for school... okay so toronto is only 25 mins drive away, but still, im not going to be coming back that often.

so do you think i should go back there tomorrow after work, look for her, and get her info? Lets hear it guys  :D

Definitely.

I've worked in Toronto, and it's so dull you'll need a distraction, even if it is 20 minutes away...

The answer has to be "yes" surely.

GO FOR IT!!!!

I'm 45, happily married (at last!), thankfully. But I can look back through my life and see lots of episodes like this where I was torn with doubts and ended up not doing anything. I can now sit back and look at the evidence of what happened, what was said, etc, and I realise - "hey, that girl really liked me... I could have asked her after all..."

What you've just described is one of those episodes- go for it, she likes you. The worse that can happen is she says no for some reason we can't predict (eg got a boyfriend, etc, etc). But even if she does say no, she'll be gentle and polite because she still likes you anyway...

Good luck :D

+1

I'm 44, single and probably staying that way.  But I can certainly identify with what Andy says; even I, Elephant-Man-alike though I am, have probably had a couple of golden opportunities I really should have taken.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I think that everyone of a certain age can identify with that...  If we knew then what we know now...

...  actually, we'd probably still be exactly where we are today!

Without a shadow of a doubt, as a fellow "oldie" grab your chances when you can. Otherwise..........(well there was this girl I was too shy to talk to....lets not go into that).

Absolutely go for it - if you don't so it you'll always wonder what may have happened. I nearly let it happen to me once but got the courage in the end. Been with my partner for 12 years now and have a little girl and a nice little life.

You need to let us know how you get on!

Yeah, go for it.
If she says no, well your 20 mins drive away, then you probably wouldn't see her too often anyway.

If she made the effort to come over to you then you have to try to see if it can go further.  The worst that can happen is she says no, and you are leaving anyway.  The fact you are leaving is also a great reason to talk to her.

i had a recent situation when one of my ex students( now 21 i should add) was telling me how much she had a crush on me... the truth is i had a real crush on her too and it was really nice to hear i wasnt just being a perv

but i have have been with my lady for 11 years now and the incedent above happened the day before my engagement party... and i must admit i am happy with the woman i have... better than she has ever been before (in many ways) so i have absolutly no reason to complain

so for your situation, if you are single.. go for it... i just wanted to mention that hot 21 year olds still want me... i want the world (and my fiancee) to know that

Do it, absolutely.

And if you don't, that wouldn't be very nice to the girl... what if she waits and waits and waits for you to come back and you don't? :(

Oh man do it... so do it...

I've never been able to recognise if a girl likes me or not, utter complete lack of self confidence and always think i'm imagining things but im starting to really notice it now...

I absolutely know the girl in the beauty place/thingy/whateveritis across the road fancied me, and she's the hottest girl that comes into our shop and is NOT some braindead pretty fool... she's a bit of a nerd actualy, great personality!

I wish i'd had done something when i saw her out in town, she was so happy to see me too...

Gah!

So what's stopping you now?  Attractive nerdy girls are like gold dust :D !!

Has she got a (much) older sister?

Beauty therapists that are sci-fi  and rock music nerds as well - they make the best girlfriends
In case you are wondering Ms Feline is a beauty therapist and a real Sci-Fi nut too.

Not sure I agree with women having a personality.  They'll be wanting the vote next...

(that was a joke, by the way...)

You'll need to be careful - she lives in Essex (albeit North Essex- nearly Suffolk)

Go for it, what's the worst that can happen.

There's nothing worse than missed opportunities with girls, i have made that mistake a few times and always wondered what could have been. The time is coming round again for me where this girl and i have been talking and seeing each other a lot and i'm not going to $%&# this one up!

let us know how it goes!

if you've got anxiety from chatting her up and getting her number and etc, just go in there and get it sorted the longer you leave it the harder it'll get, stop thinking and get doing

in the competitive environment of pulling women do you want to be on the winning or losing team? if you don't try in the first place, you lose straight away

women think emotionally and not logically and are less visually stimulated than men, so go in there, try and be well groomed and always be positive and don't just stare at her tits, she has a face, and avoid things that might lower "value" to her (ie homeless, in a billion pounds of debt type stuff)

they have a sense of smell 40 times greater than a man's (apparently) so I like to have a bit of jean paul gaultier as well (not that I can actually smell it but women say it's really good)

and if anyone told you to just be yourself, you want to actually be your best self, and if you don't have the confidence, pretend to have confidence, or as I call it, social engineering

Act on impulse when it happens, i do it and it works. Whats the worst that can happen? You get turned down and at least your don't get the torture if only I....or if you go about things completely the wrong way and grab her arse she might smack you in the mouth or get you nicked, but you're not going to do that!

I was with a woman i wasn't happy with after 3 years of seeing her. Then one Saturday lunchtime I was getting a sandwich in this nice cafe that this gorgeous blonde used to own. She had the works, big tits and a mega fit arse and she asked me out but like a loyal prat that i was i said i can't because of said girfriend. I dumped her a few months later and i always regretted letting blondie slip through the net as opportunities to shag women who look like pornstars don't come up as often as I'd like!

Good luck!
