Well it's been on the cards for a little while, and now I've hit 5000 posts on the forum. Not as many as some others, but certainly a hell of a lot!
I joined on 9th January 2006, asking for pickup advice (as we all do): http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2419
The first BKPs I bought were a set of Riff Raffs for my Epi SG when I joined YC/DC?, and I'm still loving that guitar and band. I've since bought and sold a bunch of BKPs, guitars, amps and effects in my tone quest and I think I've finally reached a point of stability. The task from here onwards is to get the best out of my playing.
I've learnt a hell of a lot from everyone on here about all aspects of music and gear, so thanks to you all!
Dave

Congrats! :D
A celebratory NGD is called for mebbe?
I was well-chuffed when I reached 1000 the other week - the count itself obviously, but it was more the fact that I consider this place interesting/friendly enough for me to stick around that long...
-
Congrats on the 5k
Having checked my own profile, how long has everyone been on the forum? And I don't mean date but time.
Mine is: 6 days, 15 hours and 33 minutes
-
5000! Blimey I've been in here longer than you have, mind you, you do get a lot of interesting threads going Dave.
Congratulations! :D
-
What about _tom_ and Denim 'n' Leather? :P
-
And Philly Q and PhilKing!
I've been on here 9 days, 8 hours and 38 minutes(!)
-
well, i've got a few posts myself, not as many as you obviously dave, but its amazing how quickly they add up. can't remember what my first post was... but my first BKP set was riff raffs!
-
honestly, once i get over a certain number of posts i wish they'd stop counting them as it just makes me look sad... you want enough not to be classed as a noob, but that's about it. :D EDIT: it's a really cool forum- nice people who act like normal people, most of the time. also i like how it's UK-centric (mainly), as a lot of the other forums are always talking about gear which is good value in the USA, but terrible value here...
-
You're a sad, sad man Dave. Need to get a life !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Total Time Spent Online: 7 days, 8 hours and 45 minutes
I did have the record once for the most clips uploaded and they were cr@p!
-
12 days, 7 hours and 41 minutes
ouch!!
-
I'm close to you Jonny, 7 days, 15 hours and 49 minutes. I joined on April 10th, 2005, but I got my first BK's in 2004. I was an awkward sod already then and didn't buy a set, I got an Emerald/AIV Mule set for a Les Paul and a Crawler/BKP91/BKP91 for a PRS EG4! Since then I have bought more than 70 other BK pickups and have them in more than 35 guitars!
-
29 days or so :? no joke. wtf!
-
And Philly Q and PhilKing!
I've been on here 9 days, 8 hours and 38 minutes(!)
I refuse to say how much time I've spent on here. It's a lot. But I don't have a life.
Congrats on hitting middleweight, Dave! :D
-
i am blaming the fact i tend to leave the forum open and walk away from the computer... that must be it
-
I refuse to say how much time I've spent on here.
i just checked - since we can look at each others stats ;)
-
Yeah, I'm not sure what that stat is showing really - I was in the top ten for "most time online" when we switched to the new forum and it's stats, and I hadn't been a member that long at that point... and I'm sure the number goes up and down sometimes?
I think it's more to do with the fact that I never log out on the three different PCs I might use, I just set "Stay logged on" to save me ever having to log in.

Oh bollox. :x
-
I think I'm still the biggest geek on here :P
-
I don't know if hitting the 5k post mark requires a congratulations or tsk, tsk'ing, to be honest.
But if it makes you feel some kind of accomplishment, Mazel Tov!!
-
I think I'm still the biggest geek on here :P
Philly's trailing behind by something like 7 posts? Isn't your count on HC something near 21K?

I don't feel so bad now. This is my only forum apart from DVD Times and Frightfest. And I hardly ever post on them.
-
Man that's sick, get a life!

yes  I tend to post a lot of shite on there, the posts arent as meaningful as here :P
-
thats worrying tom :P
-
And Philly Q and PhilKing!
I've been on here 9 days, 8 hours and 38 minutes(!)
With 5000 posts!
I must just be a voyeur, with 636 posts in 8 days, 5 hours and 9 minutes!
-
thats worrying tom :P
I really have nothing better to do with my time :\
-
1 day 3 hours. 55 posts?
Sure someone hasn't been messing with my stuff on here? :P
-
Congratulations Dave-you have contributed a great deal and I think it fair to say that your posts are generally pretty good. I was somewhat taken aback to see that i have spent 6 days, 13 hours and 48 minutes on the forum. Rather proves Mrs 38th's point "you are always on that bloody forum- I don't know what you find so interesting blah blah blah etc etc "
-
Well done Dave - and there was me thinking most of your posts were NGD posts (kidding)
This is a cool forum and there is a lot of good chat with the occasional "topic that goes astray"
I guess it's easy to spend a lot of time here
I was the 4th member to join outside of BKP admin and I cant get enough of the place - although I get busy and dont hang out here all the time
-

So some of them aren't? Whoops. Sorry Steve

I didn't mean it to come over that way (ooh er missus) you argumentative sod. :)
-
 Thanks, I think???!!! Banter - you've gotta love it.
I must admit though, I am going to think more carefully about my next 5000 posts.

Or your next £5000 purchase
-
There won't be a next one - that was my one and only, carefully funded, purchase of that magnitude.

A bold statement in writing!

I actually believe you Dave. I really do. I think you have found peace now that you have 'the one'. I'm still looking but getting closer with every purchase!
-
I give him 3 weeks at the most before we get another announcement.
-
The Imelda Marcos of guitars  (Only joking!)
-
We'll see guys, we'll see...
-
I think a sweepstake is in order
-
I'm believing the "of that magnitude" bit. I'll be surprised if you never buy another guitar, though!

I tend to agree with Philly though... (but I do have an open mind and am prepared to be proved entirely wrong )
