HI!
:D
I wanted to ask you which BKP is GOOD for my guitar ( bridge position):
the guitar in question is a ibanez prestige ( RG2570)
body :basswood
and maple neck!
I'm looking for a BNP for play death metal ( no modern metal , no death-core etc etc...), but the problem is to
match a BNP pick up that work WELL with basswood body!
I need definition and ultragain ( alnico V? )
can you help me?
im seriously interested to buy an BKP.. heheh
THANKS! :P
( sorry for my bad english)
-
Sounds like you need a ceramic Warpig.
-
thanks nolly
I'm listening to the various sample in this forum!
I'm doing an my personal idea about BKP is better for me and that I want to play :D
someone has other suggestions?
( woooow the warpig is amazing! ... also the nail bomb !!!!!
-
Look into the Miracle Man too while you're at it!
-
I second a ceramic warpig.
But, that's just cause I have one in my basswood guitar :P
Yeah, it get's pretty mean

hehe ok!

CWP!
-
ceramic is tighter and clearer, alnico is more organic... what kind of death metal do you play? stockholm, gothenburg, florida, none of the above...
-
I love these "I want BR00TALZ!!!!!!" threads. They're so easy. The whole board sticks their hand up and goes "Ooooo oooo, I know this one; C-PIG"
(Or maybe painkiller)

Dheim!!
Stop rocking the boat!
Gimmie a C!
Gimmie a P!
and so on.
He wants ultra-brootal and ultraclear. C-Pig
(or painkiller)

BUT, and it's a big BUT (have you ever seen the Hitler in England monty python's sketch? :)), if he plays that old style death metal dirty and loose as hell Apig could do it... i know, i'm a pain in board's ass... :P
no, do as they say, C-pig and PK rock!

Although I don't have a CWP, I agree with the other posters that it's probably the best for DEATH metal. Have a search for clips by Drac in Players... :)
Agree with MDV that the Painkiller would be an alternative - tight, powerful & handles detuning well.
Also, don't discount the Alnico Warpig - especially for slightly "doomier" DM ("Dreams of the carrion kind" by Disincarnate springs to mind). If you want Obituary-esque sludge, you could even try a Holy Diver (don't laugh).
But for proper Death Metal in the style of Suffocation, Malevolent Creation, Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Cryptopsy (sorry for the list of old bands, it's a long time since I bought all the DM I could lay my hands on ) the CWP is the last word...
FWIW, read the sticky (http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=8005.0) about the effects of different magnet types (including Tim's post about 4-5 down the thread about Ceramics).

I play DM on a PK
Its better for it if youre going for the origin/psycroptic/necrophagist et al, modern, well produced, ultra-precise DM.
My C-Pig is currently homeless :( But it can definately do it very, very well. But the PK has more definition and clarity, and while lower gain, has more inyourfaceness.

While the ceramic Warpig is the ultimate death metal pickup, I do think the Miracle Man is a better match for basswood RGs than the WP and it too is pretty killer in a brutal context as well.
