It just occured to me that most of the songs I have in my backing tracks folder arent really that fun to play. This is what I have now, the most enjoyable being the Blink 182 one probably..

So suggest something new for me to learn/play that I dont allready have. Not too technical but maybe a bit more challenging than those I have.

The Spin Doctors - Two Princes
Tom Robinson - 2,4,6,8 Motorway
Rolling Stones - Jumpin' Jack Flash
They're all fun, easy riffs.
Mark.

There are some tracks there I would see as fun to play.
The crowd pleasers and the straight up rock n' roll ones are always fun.
-
Origin, debased humanity. The sweeping and fret jumping at the end
The 1 time in 10 I get it right
-
Oh, and:
Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness
Motorhead - Ace of Spades
-
try viikate...
surut pois ja kukka rintaan or marraskuun lauluja I and II are full of killer songs that are also very fun and relaxing to play...
it-s finnish, not an alien language, by the way...

Since you got Starry Night I'd recommend Love Thing and Until We Say Goodbye by the Satch man himself.

I can think of a few. Like Elliott, Sweet Home Alabama is high up on the list-not because I like it ( I kind of do) but because when I play it live and I play the intro, the audience usually erupts. In the past when I have hit the opening chord of "Hard Days Night" I have got a kick out of that. I also love playing Neil Young's "Out On The Weekend" for some reason ( 'cause I play slide on the harmonica bits I suppose) and also his "Rockin' in the Free World" is a fun song to play.
-
I tend to favour old Kiss tunes
Cold Gin, Strutter, Detroit Rock City, She, Watchin You, Heaven's on Fire, Black Diamond etc
-
Pretty much anything by fear factory, provided you're in the right tuning!
Also Combustion by meshuggah (obzen), brilliant track, and really good fun to play along to (so far, I'm not done learning it yet, though!).

Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick
I'm not a drummer :P I've gone off Zep a bit though, get sick of Plants voice very easily. Black Dog is a good one though, I always $% up the timing at one part which gets annoying.

Me too - I'm not sure what time it is in but it always comes in earlier or later than me!

And me, its got to be spot on or it won't work. I can never get it spot on.
-
The only time I can get it 'spot on' is when I play it on my own with no drums or anything. Just me and a guitar. Very frustrating - how does Jimmy Page do it every time. :?

The studio version shifts from 4/4 to 5/4 for a bar then goes back to 4/4, if i recall correctly.
Live they just play it in 4/4.
I had to analyse the riff for my college coursework.

I wish I had gone to your college. I don't remember ever having any interesting college coursework. :x
-
Funnest song to play imo - Opeth - Heir Apparent. Those riffs are absolutely killer.
-
Mahumodo Not sure what song but it is the greatest use of 1st fret and open string!!
From the waves EP

recently i had a good time playing (killing, actually) "oroborus" by gojira... a funny (fun to play, not ridiculous...) death metal tune mostly played in tapping. easy but not too obvious to play properly.

So that would explain why it sounds like it goes out of time.
A fun song for me is The Osmonds Crazy Horses

AH! I've just been reading through this thread, and with several people saying "can't do it" (nor can I), I was getting ready to chime in with "Led Zeppelin weren't too hot at it live sometimes either " - that might explain it.
My favourite Led Zeppelin song (riff-wise) is The Ocean, that's another one with a 5/4 bar in it.
Meanwhile, I've been learning some fun new songs today, all from the recording and singing point of view - so they might not grab you so much Tom:
Elenore - The Turtles
Needles and Pins - The Searchers (et al)
When you walk in the room - The Searchers (et al)
Delta Dawn - various people
Darling be home soon - John Sebastian
Avenues and Alleyways - Tony Christie
It's been great fun, for me anyway (not so sure about the neighbours ) - haven't sung full-throated for a LONG time...
I'm not sure what started it... but I think I've been suddenly pushed off in a pop (mainly 60s) direction by my new Yardbirds pickups.
