Fun songs to play?
« on: April 10, 2009, 05:02:16 PM »
It just occured to me that most of the songs I have in my backing tracks folder arent really that fun to play. This is what I have now, the most enjoyable being the Blink 182 one probably..

So suggest something new for me to learn/play that I dont allready have. Not too technical but maybe a bit more challenging than those I have.

The Spin Doctors - Two Princes
Tom Robinson - 2,4,6,8 Motorway
Rolling Stones - Jumpin' Jack Flash

They're all fun, easy riffs.

There are some tracks there I would see as fun to play.

The crowd pleasers and the straight up rock n' roll ones are always fun.

Since you got Starry Night I'd recommend Love Thing and Until We Say Goodbye by the Satch man himself.

I can think of a few. Like Elliott, Sweet Home Alabama is high up on the list-not because I like it ( I kind of do)  but because when I play it live and I play the intro, the audience usually erupts. In the past when I have hit the opening chord of "Hard Days Night" I have got a kick out of that. I also love playing Neil Young's "Out On The Weekend" for some reason ( 'cause I play slide on the harmonica bits I suppose) and also his "Rockin' in the Free World" is a fun song to play.

Pretty much anything by fear factory, provided you're in the right tuning!
Also Combustion by meshuggah (obzen), brilliant track, and really good fun to play along to (so far, I'm not done learning it yet, though!).

Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick

I'm not a drummer :P I've gone off Zep a bit though, get sick of Plants voice very easily. Black Dog is a good one though, I always $%&# up the timing at one part which gets annoying.
