This is a fairly self explanatory post where everyone can post pics or links to pics of their dream instruments or dream come true guitars. I will post my 3 favorites first. I would love to see them.

Back when I was a student in my third year, my flatmate and I used to go into GuitarGuitar every week to stare at the 2007 Custom shop version of this.

well there was no point posting stuff everyone else would post - so i went for stuff i really like that may get ignored
the benedetto is a pure craftsmanship thing, in a 'i wish i could' kinda way
The asher just has to be the best looking lapsteel i have ever seen and i like the weissenborn styling
The ormsby multiscale has a great white pearl finish and a solid wenge neck that just looks stunning.
The vintage ibanez hummingbirds are obviously mosrite insipired, which i like, but they just seem a lot more gracefull than the rather clumsy mosrite shape. they also have a great carve which those eastwood ones i showed dont!
The george benson ibanez just seems like the classiest thing eve to me, i would say i posted it because its the nicest variation of the les paul out there, but it goes beyond that
I like teh ibanez bass for the way its functional aspects. the weird carves make great thumb/finger rests and also creat a unique look that appeals to me
-
and i just realised why i couldnt find an ibanez hummingbird - it was a tokai ::) (http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/780/625555.JPG)
not much about it that i dont like

One of my personal favourite looking guitars of all time has been in this thread a few times now and was made by our very own Jonathan, the Emerald Lion. She's absolutely stunning and still takes my breath away when I see pics of her. Absolutely gorgeous. Well done that man!

I must say those Lions look mighty delicious, especially the Emerald one. Superb handcraftship. I would just LOVE to play one of them. I might be a bit scared to try one out though 'cause I'll undoubtfully want to buy it afterwards. If not for it's playability then for it's sheer bee-eee-aee-uty.

Not many acoustics yet, if any, so heres one.

Is that not quite like the one that Neil Young plays? Its very nice!
Also, +1 on the Emerald Lion, i think i let out an audible gasp the first time i saw pics.

Wow that Les Paul got messed up

To all you gretsch people. 1 love your guitars they are awesome. Also how do those TV Jones sound
-
I really like that!!!
-
I really like that!!!
they have some wild designs. the manta looks nuts (in terms of size)
-
Quite like this, but the body looks WIDE
its a bit tacky maybe, ignorant looking, which means its awesome... but yeah. i dunno.
its supposed to be honeycomb chambered to make it sound... different i guess.

I think that looks.... OK. It's obviously a nicely made guitar, but he should have tried to give it a few more Firebird features than just the headstock. Ditch the binding and sunburst, add a Maestro and a raised centre section on the body, maybe?
-
I tried to find a decent picture of Dave Mustaine's korina Jackson V online but had no luck, so here's the other guitar I've had intense feelings of awe and worship for ever since I saw it:
Incidentally, I know I'm wrong and terrible but that Les Paul with Explorer headstock really works for me. In fact, Explorer headstocks on everything!
-
its supposed to be honeycomb chambered to make it sound... different i guess.
it will have been done for weight - that body is mahoosive. and it basically measn they drilled random holes before putting the top on, not that there is anything wrong with that, but lets call a spade a spade
-
To all you gretsch people. 1 love your guitars they are awesome. Also how do those TV Jones sound
They're superb - a twangy, low output humbucker that stays nice and clear as you wind the gain on.
-
Tv jones are sweet...I also love the Duesenbergs..and there pickups
-

im just quoting what ive read, or thereabouts. i dont really understand the science of designing guitars around cavities for sound... does that make sense? i mean, whats the process of design when wanting to make a cavity that actually does something tonally? size, shape, amount, and location must all be considerations right?
also, i almost bought the firebird necked les paul, but i decided getting a hard case for it would be a nightmare!
-

I was reading about the Minarik models in the Guitar World Buyer's Guide last week. They say the Manta's body is "a beehive of chambers, tuned to make the largest tonal rainbow imaginable". And on the Inferno model, "each individual flame tongue is designed to produce a certain frequency response".
I take it all with a very large pinch of salt, but their guitars look like fine pieces of workmanship (and imagination), if nothing else.
The one which really made me laugh is the Trinity, which has "the unique honour of being the only guitar in the world featuring quadruple-cutaway construction". Yeah, why did no-one think of that before, the crazy fools?

the halo too...
'zero-cutaway' model???

Man I love that body the pick guard is terrific looking. Who makes this guitar? I want to find out where I can get a pick guard like that. The headstock just totally ruins for me I like the rest of what I see though I think its well designed.
-
Tv jones are sweet...I also love the Duesenbergs..and there pickups
I love the Duesenbergs they are awesome. I want to make a guitar body after the one they have its sleek. About the pickups though how do they compare to BKP or are they totally different. I want to make a billy bo model as well but somehow I am gonna have to find templates. But do tell me about the sound of the pickups and thanks to all for posting this is a fun thread
-
well only 2 guitars I havn't changed pickups on was a gretsch and a duesenberg
-
(http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/5508/redbaron12nf.jpg)
-
About the pickups though how do they compare to BKP or are they totally different.
the quality level is similar. the tone, and obviously the look is quite different
-
they have own sound am not saying better or worse than BKP just different and suit the guitars perfectly
-
Some gorgeous looking guitars there ! Each epitomises it's genre so well. This is one that keeps haunting my dreams ( A gibson L5 CES ) , though with perhaps nicer ' split' / coloured M.O.P fretboard inlays :
'Peerless' guitars have some nice archtops, but not sure about the design of the headstock(s). The 'Jazz City' attracts me with it's low lustre body - and that nice compact 20 fret ( my favourite Jazz Guitar configuration ) fretboard.
Fortunately, I'm still very much enamoured with this little Lady, which has the profound adavantage of :
A) Costing 1/10th of the Gibson
B) Having B.K.P. pickups !

Wez Venables made this 'Vociferator', it's a maple-bubinga-wenge-bubinga-maple neck-through with bubinga wings and a wenge top. Ebony fretboard and volume knob. Sperzel locking tuners (custom made because the standard ones are too small to fit the low strings through!), and string-through. Currently set up with 14-68 strings. Fanned frets, 26.5" on the treble side, 28" on the bass side.

Beasty. I'd like a traditional looking SG done like that.
And, you are the only person I know of who uses thicker strings than me...
-
@ Mikey5:
Sorry, I don't own the white Billy-Bo.
TV Jones pickups are excellent. I have a Power Jet with TV Jones Powertrons. They'll handle everything from jazz to country, from blues to rockabilly, punk, classic rock. Even Iron Maiden sounds convincing.
-
Always love back of your guitar roo..but the shape just not sure...great workmanship though

Man thats like the hottest Les Paul ever. What brand?
Says Gibson on the headstock. I like it myself, I've always wanted my les paul refinished, this has piqued my interest!

That Les Paul is great, is it the same one Twinfan posted previously (in another thread)?

That LP is incredibly tasty!

Wow! That's very nice :D
