My all time hero.
-
it was the "blues alive" CD that made me learn guitar!
My all time no.1 guitarist
-
I just heard this sad news on twitter.
-
Awful news, an absolute colossus of a musician. :(
-
I'm shocked! He was too young.
-
Just saw this on the BBC site, I'm truly shocked! :(
RIP
-
Blimey! Just saw this on BBC too, very surprised. RIP
-
Way too young, only 58! RIP Gary :(
-
one of the first guitar licks I ever learned was 'still got the blues'
he was not a healthy man so not that surprised he has died to be honest, nevertheless it's a bit shocking RIP gary
-
Sucks, R.I.P Gary. :(
-
Just found out about this. I'm quite sad about it.
I've been learning one of Gary's songs recently too 'Out in The Fields'
-
Just saw this. A great guitar player, saw him a few times back in the 1980s. Strange but I was playing Parisienne Walkways again for the first time in years just on saturday, couldn't resist cranking up the Marshall and bending those Ernie Balls.
-
sad news rip.
-
Holy cow! What a loss :(
Such a shock, he was way too young.
-
Just found out about this, very sad. We were just dicussing our arrangement of parisienne walkways last night. Still got the blues will be filling my house tonight
-
That's awful, been playing the loner for the last few days and I was looking forward to hear him play it next time on tour :(

Terrible news - what was going on with his health?
-
I am really shocked about this.
-
just found out about this when picking an amp up for a service, can barely believe it, 58 is no age to go.
-
BUGGER!!!
Not a week goes by without me butchering one of his songs
-
:(
Really sorry to hear this :(
-
:(
such a pity. he defines 'tone comes from the fingers'
-
Damn right he does, gwEm.
I'm shocked and depressed at this news :(

Not sure of when this gig was, but it might have been his last?
-
Great link!
-
That's very sad, he was a great guitarist. He definitely did have the tone in his fingers...
-
The sound and the man that made me take up electric guitar. :guitar4:
-
:? sad
-
This is really sad for me as he was my all-time favourite musician, and he always was a huge inspiration to me. The fact that he died in Spain makes me feel even more shocked about it.
Rest in peace, Gary. We won't forget you. :(
-
I agree entirely. He was my favourite guitarist, he had a tone to die for and was incredible live. The world is a much poorer place without his talent.
-
RIP, amazing player in one of my favourite rock bands!
-
Still in love with you is one of my all time favourite songs. I hope he was having fun when he went. The music world has lost one of the masters.
-
Sad... Sad...!!!!!! Noooo!!!!
-
One of my all time favourite players..has now gone Over the hills and far away.
R.I.P., Gary :( Rock the skies!
-
Really shocked - had just been looking at the Out in the Fields tutorial in Guitar Techniques. One of the best Rock/Blues guitarist ever - very sad. R.I.P.
-
Papers claiming that he choked on his own vomit after a bender...
Such a shame if that was indeed the case
-

Yes, Gary's original minimalistic and heart-rending version on 'Nightlife' was an oft overlooked masterpiece. After seeing the recent 'Thin Lizzy' documentry on the BBC, it surprised me that it was he - and not 'Robbo' that fell first.
Gary's influence on generations of guitarists was incalculable.
-
Never was a fan but he was a great player. A sad loss indeed.
-
Great player, great gurning faces.
Will be sadly missed.
-
I just read about this maybe 5 minutes ago.....I'm utterly floored. My first memory of Gary Moore was hearing a live version of White Knuckles at 15 years old.....I was shaking my head and wanting to put my guitar away forever because I'd "never be that good." A piece of my childhood has gone home to rest. R.I.P. Mr. Moore.......
-
Really sad. This was the only news today i stopped to take in... big loss!
-
damn...just saw this-one of my idols...know a lot of cats who have been listening to Bonamassa ...it has allowed me to turn them on to Mr. Moore...
-my earliest hometown influence turned me on to GM when I was a wee lad....blew me away, just like reading the news of his passing
-RIP

Really good overview of his career I thought.
Interesting to see his jazz rock stuff. Some really difficult stuff played there.
