So how about the effect at 2:55

The tone sounds very fuzzy.
A quick google points the finger at this
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=8TOfzwrxJ5E

If this is the case it will be with the saturation rolled back like at 2:05 in the vid.
Most velcro type fuzz pedals will get you 90% there. There might also be a phase 45 used as i can hear a bit of modulation at the end of the track.
Just a guess.
He's just hammering the strings quickly in the live videos

I think there is some phaser in there, or some swirly flanger.

Yeah, sounds that way... I tried playing it with nothing but fizzy fuzz and it didn't blur my fast strumming enough so I guess it would make sense to use a phaser/flange

It's difficult to hear but it could also be a Univibe, maybe mixed with a another time-effect.

Thanks for all the cool replies guys, I managed to get pretty close to that sound :)
Oh how about this one?

The solo at about 2:42
Sounds a tad Brian May-ish... Kinda hollow too?

I like this game.
Live it's a les paul bridge pickup in to a fender something sonic or other with an overdrive pedal.
In the studio I think it is a cranked vox ac4tv, possibly, with an overdrive pedal in front of it. It mat be a les paul it may be an epi casino with a p94 in the bridge.

Bareknuckle Stockholmes might be a better choice than the above

You guys can post videos too  :)

Whatabout the intro song? It sounds screechy and raw... I've always wanted a screechy solo

Well, you could try to google it to find info about it.

example,

Artist, album, gear used

Erm... It says the gear he is using at 43 seconds in?

If you want screechy and raw a fuzz with an octave effect through single coils would get you there

Oh I saw that, but I still didn't get how he managed to get it out of an overdrive and/or fuzz
Thanks for the tip though :)
