The BFG is an absolute abortion of a guitar! The only way they could justify it is if they halved the price - they want something like 800 quid for a guitar with no finishing touches whatsoever. Ugly as $%&#.

I agree entirely, it makes me a little ill in the same way the nighthawk did. The nighthawk by comparison is a pretty thing. Now the Raw Power Les Paul is the one. If anyone ever finds one let me know 8)

i liked the Nighthawk, i own a Blueshawk (great little guitar), and i rather like the BFG!

this is the trouble with Gibson, if they stick to re-issues they get criticised, but if they try anything different they get crucified!  that Zakk one at the start does look cr@p though

The problem is, they hardly ever do anything in the way of either (a) subtle refinements or (b) genuine (useful) innovations.

It's all idiotic stuff like giant mirror scratchplates, gimmicky useless hardware (the SG GT anyone?) and novelty finishes that could only appeal to children.  And when they do come up with something new, like the Digital LP, it's usually badly thought out.
