I came across this Gibson Model the other day and wondered what people think?

1999 Gibson Custom Shop Zakk Wylde Rough Top Les Paul (CSZWRT NH1)

Sorry about the image quality.

I kinda like it, but not as much as te Power Les Pauls that were only available in the states.

Its ok.
Looks like a standard that they buggered up, decided to put EMGs on it and sell it for more.
Also by Gibsons standards, it looks really cheap... If there is body binding, it would the natural kind, no fretboard binding. cheap top.

Would rather own one of those than one with a bullseye on though

I like the MAEGUITARS.COM graphics on it though

I think it looks a touch like those awful BFG Gibsons with the random knobs and pickups. Just surprised to see a Zakkwylde without the trademarks.

Whats wrong with the Bullseye models. I love mine :D

I have an Epi one, and like its acoustic resonance, and is alright plugged in.

But wouldn't want to stand on stage advertising Mr Wylde

Well they weigh a ton as well. It's a fine guitar but it's not something that leaves the house other than for recording on occasion.

There's a reason for that; Gibson didn't tell anyone because of the shame.

Yep - looks like the BFG (Badly finished Guitar)

In fact this looks like the first pass from the CNC router without any clean up- or hardly any....

I quite like the look - at first glance it looked like a bit of uber flame maple till I realised it was cut marks....

Actually I reckon they could be good fun to play as well.......

That Zakk guitar looks like a set of Venetian blinds...

As for the BFG, I think a rough-hewn LP is a good idea, but Gibson being Gibson they had to do stupid things like leaving the cover off the P-90 and not having a cap on the selector switch (plus the clear plastic cavity covers, but I suppose some people might like those).  Fancy wooden knobs on such a stripped-down guitar was also a bizarre idea - they should have used plastic knobs with holes melted in them for better grip, like those Dimebag guitars.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

all those things you listed are painfully lame, as is the marketting for it.
I think it looks like fun though; i like the idea behind it - might try one next time i'm in town.
