my 50w Marshall Master Volume sounds fine at 'loud bedroom' volumes.

mind you, i wouldn't want anything more powerful.

you can do better than the 9200 for a lot cheaper with a peavey, and the jmp-1 is alright; nothing that special but you can get some decent sounds out of it. might be better off checking out rocktron or ada for reasonably priced preamps.
How much is the bundle going for?
LOVING the Mules!

the problem of jmp-1 is that the tube acts like on the AVT and valvestates
just for the buffer stage
but it's a great preamp
i still prefer my peavey rockmaster or a rocktron piranha
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

yeah tis but thats why the 9200 is there as a poweramp :P
the set inside a rack with a 4-way footswitch is going for 500 (ish). im quiet tempted, but i suspect i'll slowly second hand buildup a jmp-1,jfx-1, some sort of power amp i suspect a el84-20/20 simply because of slightly lower volume for possible bedroom friendliness. any thoughts guys? equally - back to my pickup problem, its painkillers or miracle mans. i like the idea of the higher gain for harmonics for the mm's, but the pk's sound like they'd have a better tone :S

what about marshall 9000 series?
the tube preamp and the poweramp are very cheaper than a jmp or the golden poweramps

for marshall stuf i still prefer the holy diver
and miracle man for modern amps

i never tried the marshall 20/20 EL84... but if i wanted a guitar poweramp with a nod to bedroom friendlyness, and the same time as being able to do medium sized gigs... well it'd be top of my shopping list anyway. its a good size too - should fit on top of a 1x12, might be worth seeing if you can bridge it, or turn one of the channels off.

you can - the reason its a 20/20 is its a duel monoblock - it can be mono or stereo with effectively two seperate amps inside

mmm, i looked on the marshall website at the manual, and i'm not sure that it offers any kind of mono option.

well it offers mono in the sense that you have a left and right amp inside of the actual one piece of amp, hence the duel monoblock, so the mono is in that you can run a singular amp through instead of two, i.e. have only left channel or have only right channel

hmm, I don't think you can, I looked into it before.

Well anyway my JCM900 is at marshall at the moment, when they ring to tell me its ready, I shall ask them about it and what you can do
