Or you could go for the cherryburst one you posted and switch the hardware to all black.

I am selling my Epi Vee.

I have never played a Dean.

I am obviously not biased.

But I can definately say you should not buy a Dean.

In all seriousness those look really nice. I like the trans black best with the block inlays.

Although that headstock without a locking nut does worry me with regards to tuning issues. Any Dean owners care to comment?

No tuning issues on either of mine. in response to the original post, Dean imports are great value for the money, the V's you're looking to get the (79 series and black/white gold series) are the ones you want to go for, these are set neck and are better quality, the V you had before, was that a bolt on neck by any chance? if it was then they are the entry level imports and they are pretty rubbish, if not, maybe you just got a bad one. The ones you are looking at dont have the V neck profile like the USA's and the newer Dimebag imports but they have a nice C shape, in between a 60's and 50's les paul neck in terms of fatness. with a good set up these guitars are great.

Thanks for your valued input Indy.   :P

I was merely pointing out due to the headstock shape the string spread is significant and I would worry about tuning stability, but it appears this is not an issue as per the previous post.

ohhhh I see what yu mean! Yeah I'd guess it'd be alright as long as the nut was lubed properly (ooh-err)

Yeah, the ML I had before was an XT model (I think the X model is the lowest) and mine had as floyd rose trem, with a basswood body, a very thin and narrow neck and bad frets.

I still can't figure out what I want, which is half of my problem

yeah those are rubbish, the 79 series are much much higher quality, set neck, mahogany neck and body, better construction, if i were u i'd go for either the cherry or pay a few quid extra and get the black gold model, i've heard these are a little better quality wise than the 79's but ive never got to try one out.
