Don't know how you are planning on wiring it up, but here is an excellent article on vintage Les Paul wiring that you may want to read. Very informative:

There is also a thread about half a page down with a sticky icon next to it that discusses the differences between vintage and modern wiring. You should take a look at that.
My own opinion is that vintage wiring is the way to go, retaining the highs better and staying very transparent. Then again, it really depends on you guitar and own personal tastes. :)
