Has this Place Made Me More Tame?

I have a variety of pickups in my guitars, from stock ones to a few from replacement manufacturers (mainly BKP, but others too).  I go with what sounds good in that particular guitar.  I've actually sold BKPs that I've bought brand new, fitted them to the guitar I bought them for and then not liked the result.  That even includes buying a set of Mules for one particular Les Paul and not liking the tone  :o

I think that means I'm not just a blind Fanboy?

I'll just go with Tone Hound  ;)

Yep, you're not a blind fanboy   !

I've also bought BKPs and not had quite the result I was expecting.  I don't think there was anything "wrong" with the pickups, they just weren't the right choices for those particular guitars.

For the record, I've got BKPs, DiMarzios, Duncans, Kinmans, some stock Fenders, a Joe Barden and a Jason Lollar; I've had EMGs but probably won't buy them again.  Some will be replaced in due course, others aren't going anywhere.

The difference now is that when I'm looking for new pickups, BKP is my first port of call - not necessarily the last though.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
