Help REgarding Muffled Tone.
« on: January 15, 2009, 10:21:20 PM »
Hi ive just tried to instal a pickup that i bought from BKP(bkp-92) and i think i may have damaged the VOlume pot or i have connected something wrongly.

the NEck pickup is fine as i did not replace this but the new Bridge pickup is Half the volume it used to be and sounds Dull, lifeless and muffled.
i even tried the old stock pickup back in and it sounds teh same, dull, lifeless and muffled.

have i fried the Volume Potentiometer with teh Soldering iron? or anything you know of?
Thanks, PS Quick advice would be appreciated.
Luke.

Sounds like you bust the pot if the old pickup has the same issue...

you can make a quick check by connecting the pickup wire direct to the output socket, and then reduce from ther. the PU has no tap? Just two wires, right?
