I can just see myself cranking it in the middle of the forest!  8)

just dont go around looking like these guys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VBdAY8eA9w

I like that as soon as I saw the word forest and a youtube link, I knew Abbath and his pals were a-coming.

Immortal are great. There are actually people who take them completely seriously too, which is astonishing.

tell me about it hahaha. i actually know a lot of people who take that stuff 100% seriously. it's .. idiotic
i cant see that they take themselves too seriously. not with videos like that. and photoshoots like theirs. i mean, they're on the list of the most ridiculous black metal photos.. twice. and on the list of the most ridiculous black metal videos.. twice haha. besides, noone but gaahl and the freaks from mayhem take themselves too seriously
though immortal slay live. saw em on metal camp and they put on a show like you wouldnt believe.

yeah, forest and cranking an amp, just beggs for abbath and company :D

Haha, well, my brother is an immortal fan although he doesnt take the vids to serious, i like one or two of their albums, i used to like black metal (just a very few bands though like Dissection), but now i pretty much only listen to classic heavy metal, nwobhm, stoner/doom, and some power metal, i guess i softened up a bit haha;) I doubt Immortal take those to serious, maybe they did back then, but i saw the guitar lesson with abbath and he seemed really laid back and cool  8) like those two smileys.

i've met a ton of them and yeah, most of them are laid back and cool. some do have a huge ego, but for the most part they're cool

I haven't played the Rebel 20 but I am an Egnater user myself
I have the M4 preamp with various modules and they sound fantastic.
I run these through a Martamp 10w Goldstar Power amp that Martin made for me

The Rebel 20 is kind of based on the SL2 module which is like a Marshall JCM800 sound and a little hotter.
You may find that you will still sometimes want to push it with a pedal for certin tones but the core tone is excellant.

I will run the Gothic warpig through it before I ship it off just to confirm how they sound together

I have long held a belief in lower powered but killer sounding amps as being the way to go in the future for guys to use at home.
The 50w or 100w amp just cant breathe at really low settings in my opinion.

I went with a separate preamp and power amp route as if I needed more power I can just hook up a bigger power amp( I also have a Marshall 9100 50w per side one if I need it)

Sure, cool:) Not really neccesary though since i can get a custom Martamp + cab for the same price as the Rebel 20, which sounds like a more preferrable option, but go ahead, im always indecisive with things! Ive heard alot of good stuff about the Rebel 20 no doubt. Thanks!

Having spoken at quite some length with Gaahl and Attila on a few occasions each, I'd say they take music immensely serioisly, but they're extremely cheerful chaps themselves. And Necrobutcher and Blasphemer are just drunken dafties!

For the most part it's the gus in the underground that take themselves ultra-seriously. A lot of the modern USBM guys particularly and folk like Caina.

It's a worry when at the end of the day, they're all spawned from a mediocre English band who were TAKING THE PISS

i know.. it IS the underground bands that take themselves more seriously than anything. that said, i dont give gaahl the time of day anymore and i'd gut king if i had the chance. they do take their music seriously, but i just cant stand the sight of them.
i had the chance of meeting a $%&#load of these guys over the last two years and like i said, for the most part they're great people to be around and drink with and i maintain contact with a few (that werent TOO drunk to remember what the hell was going on.. hehe, but really great stories spawn from that :D) but as soon they start pulling stunts like king did and gaahl just following suit, i really dont want anything to do with that sort of people, even though colaborating would mean europe wide renown in a lot of metal circles.

also, yes. most of these bands did start, because they were taking the piss out of similar bands. and that's pretty much how the band i'm in right now, started :P though it evolved from a bedroom project that was really just taking the piss out of the utter seriousness and wannabe high society 'we're the $%&#ing best black metal band in the universe' to a quite sophisticated black metal band with an (almost) full roster... i'm not too sold on the 'panda' facepainting bit and i doubt i'll ever be, but we're doing the silly nicknames LOL .. the style is very close to Anorexia Nervosa, if you know of them. black metal (with strategically placed blastbeats and those 'god i'm freezing my bits off' riffs) and classical music. kind of like satyricon meets bach :P just more eerie and ghostly hehe

Okay, so i decided to get a Rat Electronics modded Epi Jr Combo (theres a guy "andydokken" who sells this on ebay). Thanks to MrBump who made me aware of the Rat modded amps. The amp has powerscaling amongst other cool stuff, so i can try that function out so i know if it works for any future amps aswell (martamp for example), and it was cheap aswell, 279GBP including shipping to Sweden, expecting to get it next week since he just finished building it today, so thanks for all the suggestions, we will see how this works.
